SpringHill Suites Mystic Waterford

The hotel was mostly as expected for a Springhill Suites. The location is convenient, right off the highway. The property is older and could use some renovating. We had a small issue with the heater but the front desk sent a maintenance person right away and he was able to resolve the issue quickly and even offered to grab us an extra blanket. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. From the moment I entered my room, there was a strong, unpleasant odor that made the space feel unclean. The sofas were heavily stained and visibly dirty, making it uncomfortable to sit or relax. It was clear that proper cleaning and maintenance had been neglected, leaving the room feeling far from welcoming. The condition of the hallways was just as bad, with a strong mildew smell poorly masked by air fresheners. Instead of addressing the root of the issue, it seemed like the hotel was simply trying to cover it up. The overall atmosphere was uninviting, and it was evident that a basic cleaning crew wouldn’t be enough to fix the deep-seated problems throughout the building. The only positive aspect of my stay was the night shift front desk staff, who was kind and professional. However, even great customer service couldn’t make up for the terrible state of the hotel. I would strongly advise fellow cheer parents and other travelers to avoid this place entirely. At this point, a full demolition would be more effective than a simple cleaning—this hotel is beyond repair. I had a better chance sleeping in my car in hopes of avoiding bedbugs.

The front desk was friendly, the lobby was welcoming and somewhat clean but could use some updates. The gym could be a bit bigger to be able to comfortably have multiple people in there. The rooms were decent and had the amenities needed for a short stay.

The property needs some updating but the amenities are fine. The daily breakfast is very good. Nice, helpful and friendly staff. Good location with easy access to the interstate, nearby restaurants and a small shopping center with a decent size grocery store. Convenient to the US Coast Guard Academy.

This should not be a Marriott. It was filthy. The ceiling in my room was cracked. Windows dirty. The drawer under the tv wouldn’t stay closed. Elevator in disrepair. Bad customer service. It scarred me for life. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but it was a terrible experience. I was only there for one night, any longer I would have left.

I stayed at this location for a brief amount of time and for the time being, I was taken care about Mr. Brannon throughout my morning. He made everything quick and easy also provided everything I would need for my essential stay. Also wish him Happy Birthday!

Had to stay for a couple of nights in between moving and I really enjoyed the cleanliness of my room and amenities offered. Staff were all amazing but especially Brannon at the front desk. He was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Staying away from home is hard enough for me. He was patient, caring and truly a bright light. Working in hospitality for many years I appreciate others who understand and treat their guests with the upmost respect. He was the best part of my stay. Thank you!

Rooms are fine a little beat up, but clean, and a bit hard to find the place at night.... But.... The staff is amazing! A young man with long hair knew me by name and greeted me each day. I travel with a 55lb tool kit and 70lb pelican case that I always have shipped to the hotel. They were waiting in my room for me! Never once have I had that. I usually have to ask about them, then wait and try to fumble my way back to the room myself. I thanked the young man and he insisted that he help me lift them into my car when I was leaving. I thanked him. I have stood in front of Marriott employees before as they watched me struggle to do this myself with no offer to help. I hope the hotel knows how wonderful of an employee and person he is and how lucky they are to have him!
