Living Life One Day at a time

While driving through Atlanta on my way to Tennessee from Florida we found this hotel on Booking.com. I was able to book it and show up with no problems checking in with in a hour. It was very quiet. The pool was closed until May 1st I am assuming because it is not heated. The lotion bottle in the bathroom was empty and the body wash dried out my skin. My husband liked the conditioner. Parking was free and the breakfast was a nice spread. A large variety and very fresh. The lobby employees were very nice and everything functioned fine in the in the room. The room could use some attention as shown in photos but over all it was a great deal for the price. One thing we found was the USB chargers did not work but we had blocks so we were fine.

Our King room was very comfortable and quiet. The shower was fantastic, the best in quite a while! Breakfast was complete and delicious. Easy access to I-285 and area restaurants. Overall an excellent experience. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Fairly convenient location for business travel in Tucker, however, there have been consistent issues the times I have stayed here. On a previous stay months ago they were having key issues and could only issue one copy, and were not able to process the in app digital key. At the time of this review, this has not changed. I cannot speak for the time between my experiences, but I would assume this is frequent based on conversations with the staff. I locked myself out of my room forgetting the digital keys that Hilton Honors program has been pushing at every other location I’ve been to within the last year or so doesn’t work. I proceeded to the front desk to request a new one to which I was told they would have to walk me to my room and were unable to issue a key. Upon arrival to my door, I asked the attendant how she was able to verify that this was indeed my room and that I wasn’t just a stranger attempting to gain access. My ID was not checked, I did not give a name, or even a number to be frank, I just walked. She was flabbergasted, and just said that she was hoping I wasn’t lying. This is insane, and if you stay here you should be aware that the building is not secure. Regarding the rooms themselves, they are in need of touch up paint, and the times they have been are sloppy hack jobs getting it everywhere except the intended target. The doors do not seal, and the hallway lights leaked in intensely. My bathroom door is also literally falling apart due to rot at the bottom. There is minor damage everywhere you look, it just feels dingy and neglected. I am loyal to the Hilton brand, and travel frequently, but I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not be returning.

We stayed for two nights, and the hotel served its purpose perfectly as a place to sleep. The front desk staff member who helped us check in was amazing—I wish I had gotten her name! The rooms felt outdated and very simple, at least where we stayed. Overall, it was a good experience; everything was clean. The only issue we had was that the AC wasn’t cooling the room properly.

The hotel's front desk ladies and an older black gentleman cleaning the property were amazing. The room itself was okay, at first. However, the sheets were stained, and the sink was stopped up. Sandra, the manager, calls their guest liars and there's a black lady in house keeping that is rude and just looks at you rather than saying hello like a person with manners or in customer service should. At first, I thought my stay went well; however, I pulled the covers back this morning, as I always do at checkout (to ensure housekeeping changes the sheets), and saw what my mother slept over the night before. I did not request a refund, but since I was told by the front desk attendant Tricia that I would receive one, I reached out to management. With that, I sent Tricia the attached image to share with her manager, Sandra. According to Sandra, housekeeping told her the strain was wet. Ironically, this same housekeeper that I already had an issue with. So Sandra, being the wonderful manager she is basically called me a liar and said I created the stain. What an amazing team!

Stayed here for almost a week and had a great experience. Nice staff, plenty of free parking, decent breakfast, 4 nice luggage carts, always have ice cold fruit infused water in the lobby, bathroom has lots of counter space, laundry is $3 to wash and $3 to dry card only. ||Breakfast review: |The food was cold most of the time, lots of condiments/toppings like shredded cheese, hot sauce, salsa, nice yogurt selection usually two different brands and lots of flavors, if you stay longer than a day, the hot items usually are different each day. The 1st day the breakfast potatoes weren’t cooked enough and the sausage was cold. The 2nd day no potatoes, barely any seating due to a large group, sausage was cold. The 3rd day the potatoes needed to be cooked longer, bacon was the thin kind, scrambled eggs, food was actually hot. The 4th day the potatoes needed to be cooked longer yet again, cut up sausage was really yummy. The 5th day they had small cheese omelets that barely had any cheese, regular sausage links, potatoes were cold, and not as many choices for yogurt. They have a waffle maker but there could be a long line if it’s busy as there’s only 1. Not enough seating for breakfast especially when large groups come and the tables and chairs are too close together that they’re in the way and you can’t walk in between. The staff are good about refilling food and supplies and cleaning tables. The breakfast is open 6-10am everyday which is nice.

Over the last two months, I’ve stayed here every week for 3-4 days at a time. The staff has typically been great. However there is one lady who I’ve been checked in by who is usually one the phone via her AirPods, talking under her breath in response to the personal phone call while assisting me. I’ve returned to the front desk and waited for assistance only for 5 minutes to pass and find her sitting in the breakfast area scrolling on her phone. Not a big deal as I’ve been assisted thoroughly by her, but it is worth mentioning as it is rather odd and kind of unprofessional. Since I’ve started staying here, only one of the two treadmills work. The elliptical tv does not work. While the gym is clean and decently outfitted, I wish all equipment worked. The first check-in, my room smelled of cigarettes. The above mentioned receptionist switched my room with no problem. However, that night and the following, an adjacent was smoking weed and the smell permeated the hallway and my room. This problem is not isolated to that one stay. I occasionally experience this problem and it seems no one enforces the non-smoking policy. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows terrible. They’re lumpy and lack filling and firmness. The rooms on the roadside are awfully noisy. The rooms at the backside of the hotel, there is no road noise which is nice. But no matter which side of the hotel, the hallway noise is disturbing. It would be great if the rooms were soundproofed for a good night’s sleep. No matter which room I’m in, the mini fridge is always frozen over. I’ve complained once about one room’s fridge making so much noise through the night that it kept me up. One other stay my fridge was extremely smelly. While courtesy coffee is provided, no bottled water to make the coffee. Every room’s furniture has stains and it seems like those are rarely, if ever, cleaned—Chairs/ottomans stained, tables filthy, and fingerprints on the mirrors. The bathroom is surface-cleaned, but there’s usually stray hairs in various places in the bathroom, stains in the toilet, and the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers are typically out. The makeup wipes are never refilled throughout my stay even though they change my towels when they’re still hung up. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Once in a while there are strange characters in the parking lot. I have been approached by someone off the street, it was a very uncomfortable encounter. I wish there was some sort of security on the property. The breakfast has a good rotation. Everyday is a different type of eggs, protein, and starch. The evening cookies are such a hospitable touch! Generally, the stay is good. The minor complaints I’ve had would make it great.

I am a travel nurse and stayed at the Hampton inn Atlanta Northlake two days per week for 5 weeks. The staff is very nice however the rooms are nasty. 🤮 I’m a creature of habit so I did not want to book at another hotel thinking each time I’d come back it would be cleaner. My first room on week one smelled musty, finger prints everywhere all on the bathroom door ants 🐜 on the floor. Week two red textured coily hair all on the top part of the sliding door and a ring around the tub, I ask for my room to be switched. Third week sink clogged up hair in the bath room on the wall finger print sticky stuff on the phone and desk. Fourth week the air conditioner unit was loud and would not cut off when I push the off button. The air was very dry and humid musty smell that blew out. I could not sleep. The fifth night the sink was broken the water would not drain the bath tub stopper was sitting on the side of the tube, I ask for a room change. I’m now in a room that has dirty dingy carpet the pillows are old, saggy, flat worn out. I was laying down in the bed and I kept smelling something that smelled like corn chips and stinky feet. I kept sniffing around the bed and the scent got stronger as I got close to the pillow. A filthy funky as pillow 🫤. My God I can’t take this … I did not want to give this hotel a review but this can not go on without sharing to save someone else the torture. The carpet is dirty and stink up the room. The only thing good about the hotel is the front desk staff and the hot shower 🚿 jets. If you like clean, fresh and tidy don’t stay here it’s given smoking mirrors,. It should be called motel 8.
