★★★First let me say the reception staff was very pleasant and polite. The hotel is under going renovations, The bathroom room had chalking that was mildewed, dirty walls, wall paper peeling from the wall. Bathroom tile groat discolored. Had we known this facility was under renovation, we would have stay at another hotel. For being under renovation, there was no price consideration. At the very least a banner on the website for this location that it was under renovation to provide the visitor the ability to decide to stay there a or somewhere else. Disappointed! Restaurant attached to the hotel is closing within 2 weeks and did not have all the items one the menu. Disappointed !

NillOur room was clean however there was mold in the shower and on the ceiling. Pretty disgusting. The attached restaurant was a nice option however we prefer a continental breakfast over restaurant style as we like to get back on the road quickly in the morning. Coffee in the lobby was not available until 6:30am.

★Our room was filthy. So they moved us to another room which was also filthy. The sink and sink would not drain and the shower was hard to drain. The elevator stopped working. I am about 2 weeks from being 75 years old with a full knee replacement and I had to carry the luggage downstairs and using the stairs because elevator was not working. I will never stay at this hotel again. The last time we stayed in July the power went off so we checked out and drove home during the night. You have my last stay with this hotel. Thomas Arthur.

★★★★★Good location. Very nice hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious. The bathroom could have been larger and nicer but we understand there is a renovation plan in the immediate future would recommend especially after a renovation is complete.

★The hotel staff was excellent. When our initial room had a malfunctioning toilet, we were given a new room quickly. The second room appeared to be clean, but there were major issues. The tub did not drain properly and so the water remained in the tub as we took a shower forcing us to stand in dirty water. The coffee maker was disgusting. It was old and covered in brown crud. My husband refused to use it and had to drive around for a Duncan. The floor appeared clean as well, but it left stains on my son's white socks. The cleaning crew can only do so much so I do not blame them. Lastly, the elevator buttons and holder (not sure what to call it) appeared to be punched in. It made the hotel look cheap and frat house like. The hotel also didn't offer any breakfast, a first that I've seen at any Holiday Inn. For clarity, I did not eat in the restaurant and therefore cannot rate the food. Overall, the hotel comes across as a reinvented Scottish Inn. I have family in Brunswick/St. Simons area and we were looking for a hotel that we could frequent on our trips there. Unfortunately, unless major renovations are made, I don't think we'll be back to this location. It was just too cheap/trashy/dirty looking.

★★I was not told of the hotel being under construction during our stay and there was loud noises throughout the Day until after 6:00pm. Had dinner at the attached restaurant which was good. But when we returned to our room we found that we had a broken toilet flooding our bathroom and call the front desk only to be told that maintenance had gone for the day. I had to turn the water off to the toilet myself.

★Our suite had black mold on the ceiling, as well as large water stains throughout. It smelled musty as well. We were able to switch rooms, but the only room available was a downgrade to a smaller room. We requested a roll-away mattress, which was promptly brought to us. However, the mattress smelled musty and disgusting, honestly. It was covered in a flat sheet and a comforter, with no fitted sheet. The comforter on the roll-away mattress was stained or discolored in multiple places. I assume this was due to rubbing or touching something while in storage. This indicates to me that the bedding wasn't fresh/clean and had been on the mattress while being in storage. Our new room had an electric handle/lock that was dying. We had a lot of difficulty getting into our room because of this, as did another person in our group with a different room. The electronic door handle/key card lock on her door completely died and had to be broken into (by staff). She was then left with a room that couldn't lock from the outside should she want to leave her room. I was scared ours would end up the same way. The hotel is clearly not being maintained. The wallpaper was peeling off of the walls in several places that I saw. There was even clear tape on some of it in a vain attempt to keep it on. The elevators were concerning as well. Sometimes they were oddly slow with a loud screeching, beep sound sometimes, and other times appeared to function properly. I had hoped to swim in the pool or have a drink in the adjoined restaurant before retiring to my room for the night, but I was unable to do either due to all of the trouble we had with our room and getting settled in another one. By the time we got settled in our new room, the restaurant was closed and there was a loud, drunken bro fest happening in the pool with a group of law enforcement officer trainees. Overall, I'm grateful to have had a place to sleep for the night, but had I known the state of the hotel beforehand, I never would have booked at this hotel. It wasn't worth the money and we won't be returning in the future.

NillJake at the front desk was very kind and helpful. AC wasn’t cold in the room. Too many hairs on pillow case. Very strong chemical smell in the room. I was told some of the floors had been stripped and waxed it made for a awful night’s sleep. The Manager in the restaurant needs to smile and learn some hospitality. Fruit bowl for breakfast had very sour blueberry’s, the excuse was, they weren’t in season. Really?? Then don’t purchase them, How about tasting the food before it comes out! We travel every weekend and it seems people just don’t give a rip anymore!
