★★★★★This is a clean, comfortable hotel at a great price. There were so many mixed reviews here that I want to set the record straight. The good: We stayed in room 101, and it was clean, bright, and comfortable. The hotel has no musty smell, and everything has recently been updated and painted. Note there is no paint or construction smell. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and the towels were really nice. The staff is very friendly. The 'could be improved': the breakfast was forgettable, the water pressure was a little low in the sink, and the pillows were just okay. Overall, for an overnight stay when traveling, this is a great choice.

NillAt check-in the staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was clean but we found some items that should have been taken care of during cleaning which made us suspect if the room had been cleaned at all. There were toiletries but a stick of gum was under the sink and it was apparent the full length mirror had not been cleaned. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling over the bed. A person checked in late next to our room and you could plainly here every word they were saying. The walls must be paper thin. The hall and elevator need attention as they were not clean and need painting (by a professional). The morning breakfast was an unusual situation. They said they served breakfast but I had to walk to the next hotel to get it. Strange to say the least. Anyway, the breakfast was sparce. Just a couple items to chose from. I don't eat the standard American breakfast of meat, eggs, and white bread. My only option was an orange or an apple. The coffee was fine.

NillI’ll start with the praise. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. Of course, that’s after our 9:30 pm arrival time that showed the true face of the location. We passed four “backpackers” high as a kite from just the four lane to the parking lot of the hotel. When we got to our room it was evident the door had been previously forced entry upon from gouges and tool marks on the door. Likely an overdose with the medics forcing entry, but could have been drug cops or who knows what else. The room smelled like cigarette smoke from probably a few guests prior and that AIDS killing stuff they wash the sheets in cheap motels. The bed was nice and comfortable and appeared new. I checked for bed bugs all things considered. Also, the shower was pretty nice. Neat shower head with a misting setting and the bathroom mirror is heated. The next morning I went to check out the breakfast situation. By nearly 7:30 all hot breakfast items has been consumed and not replaced. The hot water dispenser for tea was room temperature and that was the last straw. I dedicated I needed to let the world know what they were getting into staying here. If I’m ever in area again I’ll just sleep at the Waffle House.

★★★★★Pleasant surprise, good experience staying at this place for a great price. I was commuting from Florida going north and stayed in Kingsland exit off of I-95. I chose Wingate and was glad that I did. The stay was cost effective, the room looked modern with good lighting. Comfortable sleep. Looking outside, they have an outdoor area with pool and even a life size chess board, will have to use it next time. Front desk and housekeeping were friendly. I'll be sure to stay here whenever I pass through Kingland.

NillEven though they are renovating our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk was very polite and friendly. The only problem was the television reception was poor. I probably just didn't know how to operate it.

NillStaff was very friendly, the room sufficiently clean, the beds comfortable and the free breakfast had a good variety but no knives to cut the sausage or waffles. What this hotel lacks is attention to details that impact the appearance and overall guest experience. The hotel door served its purpose but was damaged, the area between the bed and the night table had paper garbage, the shower head was the worse I’ve experienced at any hotel, the shower did not have liquid soap dispensers or any place to put a bar of soap, I had to ask for a bar of hand soap because there were none in the room, the hallway rug was damaged, some walls needed touch-up paint, and the list goes on. I would stay here one night during a road trip but not longer.

NillRoom was great, clean, and modern. Had a very nice experience with Nadia at the front desk who helped clear up some info about my service dog. I drive up and down the coast often and will be back. She wasn’t the manager but seemed to care about my business which is better than 99% of the front desks I’ve experienced along I-95. Managers; give that woman a promotion! She’s earned my business

★★★Stayed here recently when traffic on 95 got to be a bit much post-Thanksgiving. Checked Trip Advisor for a recommendation at this exit and this property came up as the best value for the price. I am now curious about this criteria, and/or the other hotels at this exit. Upon check in, I inquired about ice machines, only to be told "it" (the machine, apparently) was broken, but that the attendant could get me some. (From a bag of ice behind the desk.) Everything everyone else has written about the smell is true, as well...there was a musty odor throughout, and very stale air. Shower water pressure was quite low, and air conditioner/heater temperature was difficult to regulate. Upon checkout, when requesting a printed receipt, I learned that wasn't an option since the printer was out of ink. (Guess the ink and ice ran off together?) 😉
