The rooms were very spacious, teh beds were comfy and we felt welcomed! The best part of staying at this property was the staff!!! Francine, Logan, Allison and Ernesto were always so welcoming and gracious. |We were super close to everything we wanted to do and it felt good coming back to hang out at our room and watch tv and order food!

The Whitehall is centrally located near the Gold Coast area adjacent to magnificent mile. It is walking distance to great shopping wonderful restaurants the rooms are big and comfy. The beds are really good. It’s great to come back at the end of the day and get some good sleep, but the best part about staying at the Whitehall was the staff. Felicia allison Felicia Logan Ernesto were incredibly welcoming a world of knowledge. They all had great recommendations and always welcome us back with a big smile and we’re always looking out for our needs. Next time we visit Chicago we are definitely staying at the Whitehall again!!!! Thank you all for the great service and the amazing time.

We had a wonderful time. There's a dog park close by which is fabulous. The tubs are huge and the view was breathtaking. Everyone was so nice and accommodating..Free breakfast was a treat as well. The gentleman running breakfast was so nice. It's close to everything withing a 15-20 minute walk. Perfect for families!

On a recent stay to Chicago, my husband and I unexpectedly had to change hotels late in the evening due to issues at our originally booked location. In a crunch, we found the Whitehall. They were able to accommodate the two nights we needed on short notice and for a good price. The location is excellent and while the hotel is older and the decor slightly dated, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and our experience was peaceful and quiet. We received a voucher to use at their on-site restaurant and our experience there was also great - the staff was efficient and the food was very good, particularly the dumplings. Finally, I want to commend the front desk staff. While I didn’t get their names, the women working both the night and day shifts were so kind and accommodating! They remembered our room number, were always friendly, and truly made the experience top notch. The hotel that we had to leave did not have a front desk or any sort of concierge service on site, and it makes all of the difference - especially when you have a good team like the one at the Whitehall.

Among the many hotels I’ve experienced in Chicago, the Whitehall Hotel stands in a league of its own. From the moment I arrived, their commitment to exceptional hospitality truly set them apart. A special mention goes to Logan at the front desk, whose warm, professional demeanor and genuine dedication to guest satisfaction left a lasting impression. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail of my stay was seamless, offering thoughtful assistance with a smile. The Whitehall’s service, paired with its elegant ambiance, has solidified it as my top choice in the city. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough to anyone seeking an unforgettable Chicago getaway—thanks to Logan and the entire team for making my stay extraordinary!

I love this hotel. The front desk staff are wonderful , helpful and always upbeat. The hotel is perfectly located by Michigan Ave and Watertown place. The hotel is a classic and a bit dated but I think it adds to the charm. The bed was very comfortable and quiet both times I stayed and my room had an amazing view. If you're looking for an ultra modern hotel,: this hotel is not for you but if you're looking for a classic, comfortable well located hotel in Chicago...you struck gold! Highly recommend!!

Feels like a bait and switch. The pictures do not reflect the actual state of the rooms. Bed was clean at least. No bedbugs or evidence of them. We checked. But the wall paper was peeling all around the bed and in the bathroom. The shower head looked moldy and was coming out of the wall. The toilet looked like one from a public restroom. All the fixtures were tarnished and clearly 20 years outdated. Definitely don’t go off the website pictures, they are definitely staged or edited and don’t reflect the state of most rooms.

I stayed there for five nights. The heat in the room I was first assigned wasn't working for the first night. After I complained about it the next morning, they sent the maintenance team who attempted to fix the heat twice. They were not successful. And I was given another room. An upgrade - it was a bigger room (photos attached) The staff at the front desk were mostly friendly and kind. There was one person who just seemed irritated all the time. I was offered a microwave and a mini fridge upon asking because there was no fridge in the first room I was assigned. They were able to bring the microwave for me to the second room they assigned. That room has a mini fridge. The location is great, easy access to public transportation, stores, restaurants, parks and the lake. The rooms are pretty dated. The bedroom and bathroom fixtures are old. The rug in the rooms is very old. The rooms were decently clean, but the furniture and fixtures (chairs, tv, table, lamps, curtains, rug) were very very old. Kind of felt like I was in a 70-80s horror movie!! There are no outlets near the bed for charging phone or personal devices. The lighting in the room itself is very poor. Noise from the adjoining hotel rooms are heard at all times of the night. While the noise from the street was not audible, I could definitely tell how many times my neighbor went to the toilet! I wouldn't stay at the Whitehall hotel during my next trip.
