Staybridge Suites Cedar Rapids North by IHG

Nice property, was pleasantly surprised it is located right on the running/biking path network in Cedar Rapids. Rooms and facility are great. Nice lounging area in the lobby and good breakfast selection. However, needs some improvement paying attention to the details. When I initially checked in my room door did not close all the way, the only way to secure the door was the deadbolt. I got in late and did not want to change rooms at that time. Additionally, the toilet was leaking so had to listen to water constantly running all night. Got up early and changed rooms at 0430 so I could actually close my door during the day. Staff did give me a new room, but did not apologize for the room not being fit for use. Back door to the hotel key card reader did not work or work consistently. A couple of times I could not get in through that door and had to walk all the way around the outside of the building, which was partially on ice as the sidewalk was not shoveled. Sunday morning no coffee in the 24/7 coffee pot which was disappointing as well.

It was a great place to stay - the hotel is older but has been kept up well. The room was very pretty and comfortable, and we loved having the kitchen in the room! It was stocked well with dishes and such making it easy to make snacks! We swam in the pool, it was a small pool but we had it to ourselves so we didn't mind. Our only complaint was while checking in we had to wait at the front counter for the clerk to finish her cigarette outside before she came in and checked us in - wasn't very professional. Overall we had a great stay, and would definitely come back.

The hotel and suite was very clean and roomy. All the hotel staff we met were so helpful and very friendly! We stayed for 10 days, working our day jobs remote during our stay. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and the after work social hour! Our housekeeper was just as amazing, though we did our own cleaning as we did not want to be disturbed while we were working. She always offered to clean our suite and change our sheets whenever we asked her for clean towels, more dishwasher tabs, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. The complimentary laundry and gas grill were added bonuses along with the evening social hour.

I ordered in food, no problem. I put my food in the full sized fridge and it felt room temperature. I looked to turn it on but couldn’t find any way to do so, woke up the next morning and my food was room temp. Waste of $25 for leftovers. I used the restroom during the night and flushed. Worked great. Woke up and used the restroom and it wouldn’t flush, like someone turned off the water. Very unsanitary and poor surprise to the cleaning crew. The person at the counter the next morning, while getting my receipt (which I don’t do because I can get it on the app, and to save paper) didn’t ask about my stay. No need to inform them about it and potentially ruin their day.

We were greeted by staff member: Takaya with a warm welcome to the property! The main check in area is very clean & professionally styled. The breakfast area has a large array of healthy & delicious food items ranging from omelettes and bacon, bagels, yogurt with a fruit bar and more! The coffee was delicious as well. The suite we stayed in was meticulously styled and felt very upscale. The beds were amazing and the pillows were fantastic! I would love to come back and stay here again in Cedar Rapids!

Great value, rooms were clean spacious, every employee we interacted with was friendly. This location had one of the best breakfast we have had. Several options, great quality, real plates and silverware. We will be staying there again.

We had some issues with the room being ready, despite checking in an hour and a half after the check in time. Hours later, I was waiting in line to purchase a drink and the couple ahead of me were checking in and ended up walking into the room that they were assigned, and it was already occupied. Other than that, the night went off without a hitch. The pool was great, and the kids had a great time! Breakfast was exceptional. Staff was visibly stressed however very kind.

This hotel is amazing! From the friendly front desk staff to the amazing breakfast (shout out for bacon and fresh fruit as well as waffles) I was so relaxed. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the room set up made it so I didn't hear the hallway or outside traffic when sleeping. I would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area, and would recommend to others as well.
