avid hotel Cedar Rapids South - Arpt Area, an IHG Hotel

Avid Hotel is simple, but is clean and provides all the necessities. The room is clean and has an abundance of charging capabilities, as well as all necessary amenities. The room temperature can be controlled by the guest. The gym is great and has a lot of different options with equipment. The pool looked very nice; however, I did not use the service. The breakfast was simple, but great. Everything was individually wrapped and there were many healthier options, as well. The coffee, tea, and water station was available 24/7. The staff were friendly!

We had a very good experience at this hotel. We stayed here the night before an early flight out of Cedar Rapids. It was only 5 minutes to the airport. The room was small but this was probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at. It was relatively new and was still bright and shiny. The rooms do have a refrigerator but not a microwave. However there was one available in the lobby. The breakfast was pretty basic but it did start at 5 am for those with a need to check out early. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again if needed.

We stayed here during our son’s wedding weekend. I must say this hotel is exceptionally clean, organized and a great value for the money. So happy we could have delicious coffee from fresh ground beans, sparking water and always stocked supplies. Breakfast was also very nice. Will definitely stay here again!

Clean hotel, looks new so kept up well. Convenient for staying near airport. Rooms are small but thats ok. Had a decent working area and good wifi. Bathroom was nice although shower pressure was very weak. ||Breakfast offered was ok. Yogurts, cereal, juice, fruit and sausage sandwiches. ||Only issue i had was with front desk. I requested a late checkout which i got but the day staff did not see that so in the middle of a presentation i was giving, i had housecleaning open the door and come into the room, the front desk then called and left and not nice message, then they banged on my door and said “whats your plan?” I told them i requested a late checkout which was granted and he said i didnt request it from him. Ok. When i did check out he apologized and said he saw my key was programmed for late checkout but he did not see any other notes. Opportunity for better communication within their staff. Embarrassing for me and my presentation. ||All-in-all good hotel for the price. I would stay here again. Thank you

The hotel was exactly what we needed for a quick stay by the airport. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We appreciated the hotel shuttle and having a warm breakfast with many options before our flight. I will definitely stay here when I am in the area again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed here. I didn’t know what to expect. The rooms are small but they are very clean and the beds were good as well. It’s really everything a person needs if you don’t plan on staying in the room for very long…in my case I stayed here as I had an early morning flight to catch. Each front desk staff member that interacted with were very friendly with a smile. I’d certainly stay here again if needed.

First time at an avid hotel. Our flight was delayed getting in but the shuttle driver stayed late for us. The room was clean, my wife appreciated that the floors were not carpeted. The bed was very comfortable. We had a refrigerator - I just wish they had a microwave in the room.

Valentines 2025 my first layover here in CID. The hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly. The lobby is large, open, and clean upon walking through the hotel entrance. The hotel front desk female associate was very pleasant accommodating and helpful with information on the area and where to get some good food. Acknowledging our very early morning van time she assured us very kindly that breakfast will be available for our crew. Upon walking through my hotel room door I did a few quick video clips of my hotel room during my stay. The beds, linens, pillows are one of the most comfortable and similar to what I would imagine melting into a cloud. Jus simply melted into my bed. The room I had felt and smelled fresh, it had a nice open feel, loved the flat screen TV and how it's mounted on the wall. The window had both a full black out and dimming shade options. My room was equipped w/ a mini fridge, iron and iron board but unfortunately didn't include a microwave or coffee maker. Being an aviation crew member we really look forward to the option of heating up our food we bring. We rarely have a chance to eat before the next flight to work. Other than that this is a really nice hotel and I recommend stopping by to melt into the fresh, clean and comfortable beds they provide here. Only thing I worry about is being able to get out of the bed to work my next flight lol 😉
