The Hotel at Kirkwood Center

Wonderful experience! We were booked in a standard room with our two small kids because catching an early flight. When we arrived we were informed we were being upgraded to the presidential suite free of charge! One of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in! Wonderful service! Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center on Valentine’s Day, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From check-in to check-out, the service was exceptional—every staff member we encountered was professional, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making our stay enjoyable. The hotel itself is absolutely elegant. The design, décor, and attention to detail create a refined yet comfortable atmosphere that makes a lasting impression. Our room was beautifully appointed—well-designed, spotless, and with thoughtful touches that added to the sense of luxury. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining both the hotel and the guest experience. I’ve traveled the country extensively for business, staying in hundreds of hotels, and The Hotel at Kirkwood Center easily ranks in my top ten. It’s rare to find a place that gets so many things right—elegance, service, cleanliness, comfort, and overall atmosphere—all at the same time. What makes this even more remarkable is that the hotel serves as a real-world training ground for Kirkwood Community College’s Hospitality Arts students. Students work alongside seasoned professionals to refine their skills. This unique approach not only gives them invaluable hands-on experience but also ensures that guests receive top-tier hospitality at every level. I’ve also had the chance to eat at The Class Act Restaurant in the past, and it never disappoints. The menu changes often, offering dishes I haven’t seen anywhere else in the area, and the quality of the food is always excellent. The pricing is more than fair, especially considering the level of creativity and execution in each dish. The combination of luxury, professionalism, and an educational mission makes The Hotel at Kirkwood Center a truly special place. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others.

I visit Cedar Rapids several times per year for work. I’ve tried several hotel options in the local market. There are good options south in Coralville, but it is a hike along the interstate. If you want a local hotel in Cedar Rapids, the Kirkwood is an excellent choice. Staff is friendly, food is good, even bartenders are friendly and engaging. Bri is especially professional and fun! We just got done with our wedding weekend where ourselves and our guests stayed. Everyone was so fabulous and the service was incredible! Amazing place to come back to, to relax, unwind, and gather with everyone. The restaurant is fabulous and the bar was the perfect addition to get everyone together for our social times.

Staying at this hotel was an absolute pleasure! The hotel was clean and well maintained, as well as efficient. The restaurant service was prompt and attentive with very good food. Sleep quality was also wonderful - quiet, blackout curtains and comfortable beds. I definitely recommend!

This trip was very exciting and worth every penny we saved we really enjoyed everything from the service to the use of the free shuttle. We will do it again everyone was nice and professional. Thank you for giving us a warm welcome

Wonderful hotel. Rooms are great. Service is very hospitable. Beds are super comfy. They will help you with your bags if you ask. It's a teaching hotel run by the community college. It can give any of the big chains a run for their money. There isn't a microwave in the rooms, but don't let that deter you. You have access to one in the lobby.
