Super 8 by Wyndham Cedar Rapids

My wife and I stayed here for a week. It was very quiet and peaceful! The continental breakfast was the best part of staying here. We were on the third floor. No pests of any kind, clean towels, toilet paper and a great working shower. For breakfast they serve cubed potatoes, egg patties, bagels, bread for toast, a waffle maker with a batter dispenser, yogurt, two kinds of cereal, milk and fruit. They had bananas during our stay. Thank you Mike and Matt for your hospitality and your great customer service. I look forward to coming back in the future.

This was the worst hotel I stayed in during my move across states. They didn't allow cats, even though two other Wyndham hotels I had stayed at did. They made an exception for me, though. The room looked like it had been damaged before, and the carpet was stained. I heard other guests fighting in the hallway, and they had left trash all over the floor. No one cleaned it up until I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning. I don't think I'll ever stay at another Super 8.

Retired truck driver here. I've stayed in many hotels over 35 years, and super 8 cedar rapids is a great place to stay. Right off the exit, under new management with updated rooms and new breakfast area. Friendly staff, housekeeping does great work and front desk is very helpful. Parking lot is safe with truck parking.

Sheets were clean. Carpets were terribly stained. Hole between room and bathroom plugged with tissue paper. Cover missing on stairwell electric heater. Good water pressure in the shower. I read the previous reviews. Took my chances. Price was cheap. You barely get what you pay for.

The owner has updated quite a few things and looks like he's going to continue. The rooms were clean. It's nice to see an owner take pride in his Hotel. Knowledgeable and appreciative.

Hotel is a little tired but clean. Beds and pillows are comfy. Breakfast was a treat with eggs, sausage & potatoes plus the usual waffles. They also allow pets for a fee which was our main reason for stopping here. We did get a very good nights rest. Lotsa hot water as well in the morning for showering.

Pet owners and non smokers beware!! Stayed one night and although reported to be a non smoking facility, the entire place stank of weed. Our main room was basically clean, the bathroom had a dead beetle and hair all over the shower drain. Gross. The doors to the building did not lock properly and our room door did not lock unless intentionally pulled tight to lock. This was concerning because we have kids and we did not feel safe. Not a very pet friendly place despite their description. We checked in and left for dinner, left our dogs in the room and were gone 15 minutes when we got a call about our dogs barking. We turned around without dinner and came to the room where our dogs were NOT barking and were asleep on the floor. Next day at checkout we see a $100 charge for the dogs being disruptive. Thats on top of the $20 per pet charge from check in. There is no where in their policy that states you cannot leave a pet unattented in the room. And "disruptive"? It was 15 minutes of unattended where it was questionable if they even made noise, and they were with us for the rest of the stay without making noise. Pet owners beware: this place may try to scam you and take advantage of people with pets.

Had been a leak above the tub in the ceiling. Was no longer leaking but there was still the water damage and some mold. Otherwise the room was nice and staff was friendly.
