Nill😧🧐😡🤯 I don't understand why this hotel has 3 stars. Are these fake reviews? The most recent reviews I saw are negative. This should be at most 2 stars. And it would of helped me never book in the first place. There was homeless man sitting and sleeping by a heater in the area after the stairs. Pool was out of commission. Breakfast area was not properly maintained. Rooms and sheets were not as cleaned as one would hope. I even found an old breakfast plate in the microwave of my room from a previous guest that grew mold. This hotel needs to be managed better. As other reviewers mentioned, the attendants pretty much don't care about making up for the poor experiences.

NillThe hotel is your average hotel. Room was clean and bedding appears to be new. This hotel is underneath management with new employees. Key the lady at the front desk when I checked in was very sweet and did her job well. They are working hard to bring this hotel back to what it once was. Great job to both Key and the manager. I appreciate the hard work you ladies put into this hotel.

★This place does not have any amenities listed and was dirty. I had to be switch to 3 different rooms before I had a room that was able to be stayed in. The first room didn't have a toilet seat or a working TV. The second room, the heat didn't work so it had to be either 45 degrees or 90 degrees and the TV didn't work. The third room, which I stayed in for 1 night (only because it took 2 hours to find a room that was semi okay) didn't have a way to turn the shower on. I had the room booked for 4 nights but only stayed the 1 night. I left and went somewhere else. It was horrible and disgusting. I would not let my dog stay in this hotel (which they apparently allow because there was a dog barking off and on all night). I did not get any sleep and felt dirty and itchy when I woke up.

NillStayed here in October 2023, place was sketchy but for the price couldn't complain. This time on the other hand was horrible. Came in at midnight after driving from Salt Lake straight here. Needed a hotel for the night and this was by I-80 so I thought it was perfect. They claim it's no smoking despite the first room we were in having a Walmart bag on the smoke detector and smelling so much like cigarrette smoke that we had to request a room change. Instead of a legal document form the kid wrote stuff on paper then had me sign it. In the morning requested to see what I signed for and take a picture so it couldn't be changed later on. The manager told me I could not take pictures of it despite it having my signature on it. Please do not come here for the love of God. Save your money. Oh, and I forgot to include the holes in walls that they filled with plaster and paint peeling from the ceilings. Everytime i brought up the smoke smell she said they would have to take everyone out of the building. Despite the no smoking signs if you want a room you can smoke in book this hotel because they couldn't care less.

★★Positive: Leaving it! Negative: At least 2 of the electric sockets did not work. The refrigerator was filled with frost & did not cool very well. In the morning, they ran out of food for breakfasts at around 8:00 AM! Most guests did NOT get breakfast.

★★I have stayed at Super 8s in the past. This location was very bad. It is attached to a Baymont Inn but the Super 8 desk was not staffed. We had to go around to the Baymont to check in.|1. I got to my room and immediately smelled urine. |2. Beds were made but there was garbage in all the cabinets in the room.|3. Bolt lock was missing.|4. No remote for TV.||I went back to the front desk and request another room. They did not give me a hard time switching. The room was much better, but there was no TV in the room. I stayed with the room, I did not want to keep moving my bags. I used my phone to watch shows when needed.||I did not expect a 4-5 star hotel. We were there to attend a college game and only needed it for sleep. But I will have to say this was not worth the money to stay. I will not stay at this location again.

★My family had an AWFUL experience at this hotel. The Super 8 in Des Moines should be closed down. It is absolutely disgusting, unkept, and unsafe.||||When we went to check in, there was nobody at the front desk, just a sign to check in at the Baymont. To get there, you had to walk completely around several buildings. The man at the Baymont Hotel that had to check us in seemed irritated to have to help us. He probably deals with complaints from Super 8 all the time.||||There was a homeless man sleeping in the lobby. (He was there all night and in the morning his things were still there but he wasn't.) We told the man at the Baymont, and he just kind of shrugged. In the morning, his things were still there. Maybe he lives there?||||When we arrived at our room, I pulled back the covers and was disgusted to see that the sheets were NOT clean. Crumbs, hairs, and other items were stuck to the sheets. We asked to change to a different room, and the new one was even worse. However, because it was so late at night and my kids were exhausted, as well as not wanting to walk through the cold once again to the Baymont, we stayed.||||Here are a few of the other problems we had:||- The toilet had dried urine and another substance all over the seat. (I wiped it off and it came off easily.) - it was clearly not cleaned.||- There was no door on the bathroom. With a family, this is kind of a big deal.||- The bathroom only had one light bulb working on the mirror. ||- Our garbage can was littered with used q-tips, candy and food wrappers. ||- Only 3 pillows on the two beds - no way to get more.||- Lotion (still fresh) smeared on the end table.||- Stains and marks all over the chair, walls, and surfaces.||- A mint in the middle of the floor - clearly it was not vacuumed.||- The room felt like it had not been cleaned. It made me wonder if the beds were clean. ||- The lobby reeked of pot and I don’t know what else… unwashed bodies? ||- Our hallway reeked of smoke (even though it was supposedly nonsmoking).||- We paid for a Deluxe room and were given a regular room. ||- No breakfast or coffee as promised. (We asked at the Baymont and were allowed to eat there, thankfully.)||- No security - the side door was unlocked.||- The building was falling down outside. Bricks in the middle of the sidewalk that we had to walk on to check in, and the walls were crumbling on the building. Garbage was all over the ground.||- A sign was up on a door as we walked to the Baymont saying that the building had been closed down by the police chief until further notice. It made me wonder if our part of the building should have been closed as well.||- Garbage in the hallways, completely run down.||||On the website, the hotel looks pristine, new, and clean. The actual experience was completely different from what we signed up for. We struggled to sleep because of how frustrated and uncomfortable we were. It was a terrible night, and this hotel should NOT be running in this state. We would not advise anybody to stay here.
