The location is perfect as there are many things in walking distance. Restaurants, shops, unique places to visit, and things to do. Our room was clean but a particularly odd setup. We walked into our room and could basically flop onto the bed even though there was a lot of room left. It was a backward setup from all other suites we have stayed in. We barely used the sitting area, which left the beautiful view of the lake mostly unseen. I've never stayed in a hotel suite that had the bed so close to the entry door. I know they want to showcase the view of Lake Superior in their living room/sitting area, but to have the bed 5 feet or less from the hall door, you can hear every conversation or hockey kids talking loudly, door slam or shut, and every footstep or stampede of unsupervised children during hockey season. It was not a peaceful or quiet evening. It would have been much more of a quiet and peaceful experience if the bed and sitting area were reversed plus the added benefit of waking up to a wonderful view after a much more restful sleep. They should consider making "quiet time" 9pm instead of 10pm and possibly require more supervision for the stampede of kids running down the halls. We skipped breakfast because we needed the sleep more, so I can not provide info in that area. Room could use some updated and undamaged furniture. Based on this experience, it is an overall 4 star average. But, compared to other hotels, I've stayed in more of a 3 star. If you choose to stay here during hockey season, bring earplugs or noise canceling headphones. Make a point to see the view of the lake because it is beautiful. Take a walk around Canal Park and really see the area.

Well the hotel it's self is not bad, could use a little updating. Location is great. However ..... do not stay here if you want to have any fun. Fun is not allowed. VERY strict 10pm curfew, even on weekends. They literally shut the lights off on you if you are up past 10pm. Our kids (ages 16-18) were kicked out of the pool because it was "family time" at 9pm. For groups - party rooms are extremely expensive and all food must be purchased through their catering company. Thier flash light cop was super rude. Signs in the pool area indicated that pool parties were not allowed as well. So, if you are looking for the most boring place on the planet to stay then please choose them. If you are looking for a fun weekend in Duluth this is not your place.

We absolutely love this hotel. The location, service, and price are great. The rooms are very nice and always clean. Coming for hockey tournaments and they are you can tell this place is ready for hockey parents and keeping everyone safe.

This isn’t the same experience that it was once. We came here yearly prior to 2020, but hadn’t come since. There were numerous differences when we came here this year that were disappointing. ||The breakfast used to be amazing with unique choices and quality food; now, the breakfast is the standard cheap fare you receive at any 2.5 star chain hotel. It’s fine with a good variety, but nothing I would choose to stay there for. ||The rooms seemed more outdated and the bedding was dingy and needed replacing. ||The last time we came for Bentleyville (prior to 2020), the hotel had several little perks that made the stay so fun- a big tree with candy canes, an option to write letters to Santa and have them answered overnight, hot chocolate and cider all day, board games set out at night in the eating area, shuttles to Bentleyville, etc. None of these exist anymore. The children that were old enough to remember going in the past were hoping for all of these things. In my opinion, these are all cheap things (with the exception of the shuttles) that the hotel could do to make the experience more magical and keep people returning. ||The rooftop pool was still a huge hit and is one thing that will have us continuing to consider this hotel in future stays.

My husband and I booked this hotel to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Check in was smooth and we were assigned a room quickly. The location is fantastic and so convenient! The fire pit and pool/hot tub was also a nice amenity. We did not try the breakfast during our stay. ||HOWEVER, the room was so disappointing. First is the smell, it was very musty. We first noticed the patio door was not closed all the way and would not after multiple attempts. The patio has an amazing view though. As we spent more time in the room we discovered mold on the curtains, it was a large spot. Then in the shower their was mold on the ceiling as well. I called the front desk to advise them of this issue, the person that answered did not say anthing and just asked me what I wanted her to do. So asked her if she thinks they should take the curtain out or replace it. She sounded like my request was a crazy ask. We stayed in the room as I didnt want to deal with someone who definitely didnt care. The next dayi was requesting more towels so I mentioned to the front desk that we have mold in our room. The second front desk associate seemed more concerned and advised she would change our room and speak with the manager about it. We did end of changing rooms but we still foud mold on the curtains and window coverings. The rooms seem very outdated, dingy and musty. The bedding had stains all over it as well as holes. The carpet all over the inn also looked very worn and dirty. For the price paid I guess I had more expectations for the level of service at this facility. We will definitely be checking out other hotels in the area at our next stay.

I gave The Inn on Lake Superior high praises about a decade ago. We love Duluth & were very satisfied with our stays at the Inn. Our stay in October 2024 was disappointing & will be our last. Times have changed in the hospitality business. We had more than enough gift card money for our 3 day stay. But, we didn't have a credit card or an approved debit card at check-in. Cash & the gift cards were not accptable until check-out. After a day of travelling in very windy, rainy weather, it was a slap in the face to be denied check-in. Thank the Lord we had a relative willing to share her credit card. It was not thrilling to see a rock breakwall between the lake & paved walk. We enjoyed walking in the sand to dip our toes in the water. The rooms are worn, the satellite TV system is very complicated & requires a smart phone or laptop. We asked for help, an employee came, said he needed to go to the front desk & would be back. |No show. We had a walk-in shower, no tub. Housekeeping is available on request only before 8pm the day before. The elevator became inoperable our first day. Breakfast was subpar. It costs big bucks to stay at this hotel & it is not worth it.

We stopped at the Inn for a one night stay on our way back from Canada. Our intial welcome wasn't great. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk initially. Callum arrived at the front desk shortly after from the back but it seemed we were interrupting her lunch. She was not friendly and gave a cold welcome. The rooms are nice and the pool facilities are nice and clean. Location is great. Lots of parking as well. They also have a complimentary continental breakfast buffet which is pretty nice. Though we didn't go they do offer s'mores at night as well. Everything was good outside of the welcoming we received when we first arrived. First impressions are the most valuable in the hotel business but hospitality isn't for everyone it seems.

Gorgeous view from our balcony. The heated rooftop pool was a plus. The breakfast buffet was better than average. I like that they offer s'mores and bikes to guests and have a patio bonfire at night. The hotel is walking distance to lots of great shops.
