Would give negative stars if I could. Arrive to check in late. Purposely reserved a handicap room for my dad in a wheelchair. They “had none available” even tho we had a reservation. There was 1 person working in the whole building. Then he claimed he had some but they weren’t clean…. he had to go clean the room that was handicap but dirty. One hour later he comes back to say that the restroom didn’t function. Absurd lack of standards. Oh and mice.

All the signage still says Holiday Inn so challenging to find. All restaurants are closed (December 2024), no food outside small vending snacks available on-site. It didn’t seem like anyone else was staying at the very large hotel, and randomly a fuse box cover was open which was just a weird vibe. Cleanliness and layout were fine.

Choose someplace else. This hotel is in great need of renovation. It used to be a Holiday Inn and they are rebranding it to a Wyndham. It is desolate and in desperate need of significant upgrades. I should have chosen the Hyatt just a block away.

Mice everywhere. Room doors broken no key needed to enter room. No hot water, hotel under construction. Signage was for holiday inn .. General manager is horrible and yelled and cursed at employees for trying to make things right.. was charged full price for stay. Better off staying at a super 8 ..

Worst hotel experience ever, at a Holiday Inn! We walked into a teen marijuana fest that smelled up the entire floor, loud teens parting all night in the hallways. No advertisement of this ukrainian debutante ball happening on the hotel site, which was out of control. I give the 2 stars only because the security guard, Lewis, deserves all the kudos! He was responsive and did all he could. If not for him we may have not gotten the 3 or 4 hours of sleep that we did!!! ||Here's to Lewis - thank you!!!||Also, this hotel is sort of grungy, smells clean and looks clean, but not the Holiday inn i exspected. Drunk illegals made up the other part of the population, which made it feel uncomfortable to relax. Parking SUCKS! Have fun finding some, when they host these ridiculous events without warning to their other guest who wish for relaxing vacation. Bed was comfy though. Front desk ppl were nice and helpful. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!! I leave my review here because the actual hotel website says that can't find my confirmation number, HA

Here is what is posted on TripAdvisor for this hotel: The Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown recently completed $5+ million dollar renovations in our Guest Rooms, Meeting Space/Ballrooms, Fitness Center and Seasonal pool. We are a full service hotel in the heart of downtown , excellent customer service and competitive prices. The hotel features both King Bed and rooms with two Queen beds as well as spacious 1 bedroom executive rooms. Many guests rooms overlook the Genesee River. Our full service restaurants-River Club and State Street Bar & Grill provide our guests with delicious breakfast and dinner. Here is what we experienced this weekend: Renovations are NOT completed----they are entirely IN THE MIDDLE of renovations and I really can't believe they are open for guests. NOT full service---no breakfast for guests unless you are part of a sports team that is visiting Rochester. All buildings which face the hotel on State Street are empty/for lease except the tattoo parlour. Hotel restaurant is CLOSED for reno. Again---No BREAKFAST available for guests. Lobby staff were kind and apologetic. Good luck.

I had to wait for an hour to check in. There was a line and for some reason it took a very long time to check each party in. I was given a 20% off coupon for food or drink as compensation, but I wasn't interested in spending more money at this property. ||Garage was trash-strewn and had water dripping from the ceiling. My 7-year-old got out of the car and immediately found a razor blade on the ground. Tub was stained and there was a tile loose in the bathroom ceiling. Lobby strewn with construction materials. Breakfast was not made to order as at other Holiday Inns but was instead a buffet.

Up on arrival rooms where not ready.we understood since we arrived at noon.|But weren’t able to check inn at that time.|So we left and enjoyed the day . Around 5 pm came back and had to wait for more than 1 hour in line to check in.|Our room 646 was not clean at all and heavy cigarette smell. Carpet full of crumbs , |Asked for service but never came.|The next day room was never cleaned again even after asking the receptionist for service several times.|A complete disaster.|I do not recommend this hotel at all . |Marc
