Nice place. Outside the cottages has a loads of blackberry spies. Neglected. It would have been nice if there was an extra bathroom. Rooms are clean Kitchen had the basics supies.

I rented High Hopes in Avon, NC. It's an oceanfront house on Greenwood. So many things were wrong with this house. The house was full of cigarette smoke when we arrived. There were many cigarette butts at the access to the front door. The couches were old and dirty smelled of cigarette smoke. The house was advertised as having cable TV. It did not have cable TV. The internet did work, thankfully and that was the only way we were able to watch anything. Lots of scratches on the walls from animals and holes. It was an extremely bad experience for the price we paid. The local VACASA office refused to return phone calls and never contacted us the entire eight days we were there. I know if I don't do my job I would lose it but, apparently the local VACASA office isn't worried about that. Overall just a very bad experience that needs to acknowledged.

I booked a verbo that was managed by Vacasa rentals months in advance. When finally arriving I noticed there were vehicles in the driveway. I called Vacasa to see what was going on they assured us that it was just the owner so we went and bought groceries in the meantime. When we came back we punched in the door code and noticed there were 6 people in the house. We realized they double booked us. After being on hold the first time for an hour I called back and was on the phone for another hour to only get someone telling me that they would find an alternative and would call me back in 10 minuteS. After another hour Waiting they offered be another house that was more money than I originally paid. 3hrs of wait time to be denied the house and refund that will yak a week to end up back in my account. Do not rent from Vacasa it has been a nightmare I will never go back.

For the past seven years we have visited Fort Morgan, AL with our kids and their wives and their kids. It’s a big event we all enjoy every Labor Day weekend. We work quite a bit, my husband and I, so this trip means a a lot to us. Especially when that family is driving from all over to join with us, for a family a vacation like we used to enjoy when they were young. This year was unlike any in the past, as the house was a polluted horror story, unlike we have ever experienced. On arrival we noticed a car still there and a maid was still busy working.(Check in is at 4pm she left at 6:30, not her fault, her first time cleaning this place) Opening the car doors a smell hit us which can only be described as New Orleans after Mardi Gras, Paris during the Bubonic Plague, but instead of a masked man ringing a bell, pulling a wagon to collect your dead it was a cart full of garbage bags that runneth over onto the carport. No Thames river, but a septic tank bubbling up toilet paper and large fecal matter, still whole, as seen in the pictures If Vacasa lets me attach. This was all smelt and noticed before we even pulled a suit case out. To prevent our grand-children from getting Chloera, Typhoid Fever or polio they were kept in the car, which as you can imagine was super easy for a four year old and seven year old after a five hour journey here. The back of the beach house was littered with trash from past renters, mostly tons of chairs, sand castle equipment, volley ball nets, coolers, canopies and etc. Multiple calls to Vacasa and a trip by the office later we had someone attention, I mean what about the turtles!!! A very nice lady showed up and brought us a broom and vacuum (missing from the last renters weeks ago who complained there was none)We had no time to see the missing vacuum or broom we were concerned with the large Wookiee sized hair balls attach to the shower walls, the broken dish washer, the eyes on the stove which wouldn’t heat evenly, the fallen smoke detectors from the ceiling, the garbage disposal that wasn’t an actual disposal but a large pot that caught food debris below, and lastly the broken WiFi. So why do you ask would you come to beach and need wifi, well you don’t, unless you’re a college student who has lectures to watch. Thank the heavens McDonalds has free WiFi. Calling Vacasa multiple times they graciously understood why we didn’t want to walk through feces and garbage and sent someone out to fix septic tank and pick up garbage two days later. They even offered us a $20 a day credit! Which after paying $1600 a night would knock it down to $1580, a whole 1% discount. Needless to say yea we’re done, it not us it’s you, we met someone else and you’ve lost your yearly $6,000.00 renters to Fort Morgan! I’m fairy certain the owners are unaware of how Vacasa is poorly managing their property.

Had to Cancel our travel due to my Wife's Father passing suddenly, the day before we were to arrive.||The airline gave us a credit, Car rental gave us a credit, Vacasa put me on hold then hung up, I called VRBO they tried to call and were hung up on also. Persistence got a supervisor to text me. Over text i had denied us because we didn't purchase the ins. She never did answer why I will be charged for a cleaning fee. I wasn't asking for a full refund, hell just an acknowledgment that we are grieving would have been enough instead these people were cold and NO. I was wondering if they had incorporated AI into their system. Cold heartless Bastards. ||However, all texts and phone calls were completed by thank you for calling Vacasa have a great Day. Again, a FY from Vacasca. My father in-law 64 had suddenly died the day before arriving. Travel is supposed to be a pleasant experience. We will never make travel plans through Vacasa again!!!!||If I can convince those of you who read this to use other travel venues, then fewer people will be subjected to inhumanity that my wife and I experienced with Vacasa.||Feel free to contact me for further information 503-969-7673||Dave

Never, EVER rent or use Vacasa as your rental company. If something goes wrong (and with them it will) they go radio silent. Try to call, you reach a trained robot in Kenya that has no intention of doing anything. This recent house we rented is on the same property as a drug rehab facility. We were excited we had 6 acres for our kids to play. We never let them outside. They wouldn’t relocate or give us a refund. After 5 phone calls and countless texts, they just stopped responding. Money grubbing. Cold hearted corporation.

The view and proximity to the beach are definitely a 5 out of 5. Unfortunately everything else my wife and I experienced were 2 out of 5 at best. The water heater was broken, and didn't get fixed for 2 days. The access stairs to the beach were broken. Making it a 5ft jump down to the beach. Luckily we were able to use the stairs on the property next to Beachcomber. The house seemed like it wasn't cleaned from the last guest. The beds were made, but the floors didn't seem to have been swept. The dishwasher hadn't been run, I know this because the detergent packet was still in the slot, unused. The door lock changed on us midway through our stay. We took our dogs for a morning walk on the beach and came back to the lock code being changed. Luckily the guest next door was home and able to contact the owner for us. The bed seems to have been bought 30 years ago. I can usually sleep on anything but this was super lumpy and uncomfortable. Two windows and the sliding glass door didn't have screens. So we only had one window facing the beach able to be open to enjoy the sounds of the ocean.

Sterling shores was one of my worst experiences I have had while traveling. We arrived early and went to look around property and see where our unit was…we had been told in a text i earlier check in was available we would get another text. When we found the unit there was a gentleman cleaning next door…he spoke to us so we said we were just checking out where our unit was and he said he was going there next and it should be done about one…we said oh that would be awesome we are gonna go eat lunch anyway. We returned around 2 and had our first encounter with the front desk! We asked if our room was available and she most rudely said NO! Check in is at 4! I said oh sorry we ran into cleaning guy and he said he would be done around one and she snapped back saying no you all told him you were checking in at one and i was like how am i gonna tell him when im checking in? Where would i come up with a time? She just sat there repeating check in is at 4 to anything i said and I said ok can you take my number in case it’s earlier since may vacasa text said that it sometimes is sooner and she jerked the paper over and maybe wrote it down…we asked about getting our pool bracelets and a place to change into our swimsuits…she again was excited to tell me we could not be on entire property until 4! And would have to go use a public beach access as well…i have never been told that in my 40 years of traveling been told that…we never got a text as we knew we wouldn’t since she was so enjoying being ugly…we then call vacasa of course no help from them even tho they charge enormous fees to “have your back” ! We finally decided to go try our code at 3:40 and it worked…fast forward to sleeping! Granted ALL couch beds are uncomfortable…this was another level! The springs were basically exposed a d was unusable and one twin bed was so loose and wobbly it felt like it would break if you move so basically it sleeps 3 not 6! And we paid $344 for a sleepless night for half our party and since check in was 4 and out at 10 we had basically no use of pool or property! We contacted vacasa repeatedly and they said they would request a partial refund after talking to about ten people telling the story over and over but of course nobody ever called back and then the last time we called they sided with the property and said none of our money back and no apology and that we were not aloud to rent there again for harassing front desk woman! I could not believe what i was hearing! We went in there twice and only what i stated was said and I even said sorry when i walked out we were unaware of how things worked here and they are very different than other places and she wouldn’t even speak back! I wouldn’t stay there again if it was free with that woman still there….she was one that enjoyed giving people a hard time of you know the type! Thank goodness we were only there one night and went to the aqua in panama where the room was as described and the resort staff were super friendly and accommodating
