Oregon House

The location of Oregon House is fantastic—great views of the ocean, with benches set up perfectly to enjoy the scenery and a stairway leading down to the beach. The bed is spacious and comfortable, and the whole unit is cozy for two people. We appreciated the living room couch that could be converted into a bed, making it easy to relax and watch TV. However, there were a few drawbacks. The walls are very thin, so we could hear our neighbors even when they were just walking around. While the place was mostly clean, it wasn’t spotless; a couple of utensils and cups hadn’t been properly washed, and the two extra blankets had noticeable stains, which made us wonder how recently they’d been cleaned. The TV in our unit had a black line running across the screen, which was disappointing for watching shows. Finally, there were quite a few ants around the bathroom door, and despite cleaning, they kept returning. Overall, Oregon House is in a beautiful spot with some nice amenities, but a bit more attention to cleanliness and upkeep would make it a much better experience.

We love Oregon House. Have been coming here for 37 years, off & on. We stay at The Cottage. It is a small little cabin with a king-sized bed, gorgeous views of the ocean & spectacular sunsets - providing the sky is not too cloudy. It doesn't matter because you are on the beach. A short walk to the walkway & down a little slope & then stairs & you step onto one of the prettiest beaches in Oregon. The great thing is that each unit has a kitchen. You can cook your own meals if you want. The Cottage has been updated & is not quite as comfy as it used to be. Years ago, there was a comfy loveseat, no TV, a small range to cook on. There is a smart TV with ROKU, a taller table in the 'kitchen' with one stool & a larger round table in the 'living room' with two padded chairs. The bathroom has been updated in a modern style, which is a great improvement over the old one. The grounds are beautiful. There are benches around a large piece of grass, flowering plants, fir trees, & other coastal plants & shrubs. Even though Highway 101 is just above the property, the sounds of the ocean waves drown out any loud vehicles. Check-in is at 5 p.m. come any earlier & you won't be able to get in your unit. Check out is at 11 a.m. You must lock your door by 11, or you might have to pay for another night. There are no staff here other than to clean after guests have left. Cell service is spotty, but there is strong WiFi to connect your devices. There are 9 short-term rental units (all oceanfront) contained in 5 different buildings. The units consist of 4 studio units, 4 one bedroom units, and one 3 bedroom unit. So you can pick your favorite place to stay.

We have stayed here for over 28 years. We have adapted to bringing food we can prepare in our kitchenette, and are really happy to see the carpet has been replaced with flooring at last! Such a special location that we enjoy everytime.

MAGIC! This is a wonderful place and the ocean access is perfect! we can’t say enough about the beauty this place has to offer! Make sure you go at low tide and check out the tide pools. Tons of starfish that are beautiful to observe! It’s a perfect beach to fly a kite and enjoy a fire in the fire pit. Can’t wait to come back to this little piece of heaven!

Beautiful spot between Yachats and Florence! Nice private beach with easy access and benches to sit and watch the sunset. Room was extremely quiet until we got upstairs neighbors but even then compostable to most hotels.

We have had a great experience overall. The directions given in the email really helped us to find the location while traveling in the dark. The instructions for the lock box and other details were helpful as well. We love the room and the set up and all of the things offered here. You could tell that the space was well cleaned and well taken care of. The view is great and the natural light is beyond nice. We would definitely come back!!

We needed a retreat from our daily lives; Ocean House was the panacea we needed. I've never stayed somewhere so beautiful, felt so rested, or so comfortable. The worst part was leaving, in that I could have happily stayed for weeks. Thank you to all the staff that make this place feel magical.

Been a couple of years since we were here but everyone needs to stay here at least once just to walk down the stairs in the morning to the ocean there's a small kinda cave there too write a story in the book on the coffee table. No tv's when I was there and I didn't miss it either and I'm a couch potato. Check it out when you can! Nice clean rooms And will get you anything extra you feel you need :-)
