Excellent place to stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms had a nice decor they were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. They offered free coffee, tea, hot cocoa & juice 24 hours a day. If you're looking for a simple, safe, clean and affordable place to stay, this is the place I would recommend. I know the next time I'm in town, this is the place I'll stay.

It was a pretty chill place to stay and located in a prime area for shopping, food and fun. Lots of people including us had problems with room keys deactivating leaving us to return to the front desk to reactivate which was a little frustrating we had to go 3 times and only stayed 1 night. Pool was small but it was open late so we got to enjoy it longer which was a plus. The guy at the front desk was very friendly so no complaints on service.

What to expect at this hotel: 1. Posted rules that state the pool area is adult only from 10pm - midnight. 2. Posted rules in the pool area that say no running or rough play. 3. Kids under the supervision of their parents..... screeching and running across the pool deck and doing cannonballs into the shallow end of the pool at 10:40pm. 4. If adults complain to hotel staff about kids being in the pool after hours, running across the pool deck and splashing the whole area with cannonballs while the parental figures do NOTHING, the hotel staff will be happy to tell you that the posted rules don't matter as long as their guardians are present. It appears that AmericInn Souix Falls South does not care about injury, or potential lawsuits. I understand that parents who don't parent create kids that don't care about rules. I also understand that the hotel cannot be responsible for what parents do, but when someone complains after 40 minutes of watching the nonsense and worrying that a kid is going to crack their head open, it would be nice if the hotel staff would at least mention to the parents, that the posted rules say "no running", and at least ask them to stop. If the parents ignore them, at least the other hotel guests would know that they cared enough to try. On the plus side, they have waffles.

Positive: It was mostly clean and fairly well furnished. Quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: There were some minor cleanliness details that bugged me. Hair on the ceiling in the shower, something that looked like blood splatter on the mirror/wall in the pool bathroom. The shower was adequate but had a few mold spots like in hard-to-clean spots

Positive: We had a spa tub in our room that we really enjoyed. The breakfast was very nice. The location was close to shopping, which we appreciated. The hotel reached out to us before we arrived. Negative: ""

We had a 2 night stay and our key cards disabled probably 5+ times. Going back and forth to have them reset was inconvenient and the front desk workers were not helpful or friendly with the issue. He was rude and seemed annoyed. The room was decent and the hot tub was a nice benefit of this hotel.

I wish we would have stayed somewhere else... The location was fine and service was mostly fine. Couple things I couldn't stand... Kids were running through the halls yelling until about 1030 at night with no staff to stop them. The hot tub was warm, at best, and there were ants all over the place which crawled on my arms multiple times. Can't say it made for a relaxing experience. We had towels in our room, but there were no other towels available for our entire stay so if you need extra you're SOL. All in all if you just need a cheap bed to sleep in and you plan on spending no time in the hotel then it'll do, but if you want to use the amenities hotels provide, I'd look elsewhere. Also be aware, that half of the pictures you see on the Google listing are not even this hotel...

We reserved a room for over a week to visit family for the holidays and had to cancel because they do not have hot water. The employees/front desk are very rude. They have pool chemicals laying out everywhere in pool area. Hot tub does not work. Rooms have holes around ac/heating unit where you can see outside making our room very cold. Employees constantly are watching you while in the pool. I would not recommend especially if you are coming from out of town.
