NillNot a peaceful stay. First the bad: The fact that they provide a basket full of earplugs in the lounge should be a clue. Loud music and noise till 11:30pm from the bar which is just below the rooms. The heater made a constant irritating noise. They offered a portable heater which we would have liked, but they never actually provided one. Also, there was a constant beeping every 60 seconds coming from the hallway. It was similar to a smoke detector, but louder. Another guest complained about it as well. At least they fixed that by the second night. Water only came out of a few shower head nozzles, like it hadn't been cleaned since installed. It only took a few minutes for me to clean it, but I shouldn't have to do that. The TV didn't work the first night, but was okay the second night. Same with the wifi. The good: Except for being above a bar, the location is very convenient, close to many things in Alpine. There is a nice lounge area with coffee, sink, fridge, TV and microwave. Overall it was a bad experience and I cannot recommend it.

NillRoom was clean, appropriately appointed. Kinda unique location, checking, access experience but worked out great in the end. Raquel was wonderful. Would stay again.

NillWell situated for the local amenities with spacious, comfortable rooms. Beds are so comfortable, its like sleeping on a cloud. Loud music until late and the bar is open until 2am which is not for everyone. Ear plugs are supplied from the common room. Room has no facility to make coffee although there is a machine in the common area. No breakfast, so you need to find somewhere locally, Magoos Place is a short walk and good food. Friendly folks and Alpine is lively and vibrant. Perfectly located for the Big Bend National Park.

NillAlpine City Place is perfectly situated right in the heart of downtown Alpine. Parking is easy and the “walkability” factor of this location is wonderful.Alpine Art Alley is 1/2 a block away - as well as galleries and coffee shops in a 3 block radius. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great Restuarant downstairs

NillFood was solid and rooms were comfortable. The new ownership has made some really great improvements on this classic spot.

NillMonica the hotel manager, was very nice and tried to help us. I understand the hotel and restaurant has sold recently. It was the Big Bend Biker Hotel / Old Gringo Bar. It's not a biker hotel anymore. It's not a quality hotel either. It needs to up grade it's decor. Get rid of the loud music that lasts till midnight. Hopefully the new owners put some money into it to make it an attraction that will draw people to Alpine
