Heywood Hotel

Being only vaguely familiar with Austin, I wasn't sure what to expect from the location and the hotel itself. But we LOVED it. The Heywood is practically perfect. From the welcoming phone reservation and in-person greeting by staff, to the layout of the room, the design, the comfort and the setting, everything is extremely well put together. It's casual but sophisticated, comfortable and modern. It's a gratefully quiet haven in the heart of East Austin, close to the 6th St corridor, and an easy walk into downtown. And did I mention the free snacks?||PS - I've stayed in some of the crappiest hotels in the world and some of the finest. The Heywood, for me, captures the essence of Austin. And it really is perfectly delivered.

I had the most wonderful stay at the Heywood! The location is absolutely ideal—convenient, yet peaceful—and the rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. What really sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional staff. They were not only professional but also warm and genuinely accommodating throughout our stay. The neighborhood is charming, with adorable bars and coffee shops just a short walk away. While smoking isn't allowed on the small patios, the hotel went above and beyond by setting up a thoughtful ashtray at the front table just for me—such a nice personal touch! My husband even arranged for a beautiful floral surprise through the hotel, which made the experience even more special. We’ll definitely be back. We typically stay downtown, so we were a little hesitant about trying somewhere new, but we’re so glad we did. This was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend the Heywood to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming getaway!

Just returned home from our third stay in three years at the Heywood Hotel in Austin. | As always, our experience was exceptional from beginning to end. There is no better location for travelers - wonderful food, drinks, music, shopping all within an easy walk, or a short Uber ride. Ashley, Edgar and Kayla were on hand to take care of us, and each of them truly have the soul of service and the heart of hospitality. Our room was in pristine condition - floors clean, not a speck of dust to be found, and the beds are so comfortable. During our stay, snow blanketed the city for a day, and we were more or less confined to the room as most businesses & restaurants were closed until the evening. But they were kind to check on us and provide coffee and tea until we could venture out later for dinner. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the country, but have never had the level of service and personal care that we receive from the Heywood. They are a unicorn among their industry peers - rare and splendid!

Heywood Hotel is an absolute gem! Perfectly located, close to downtown and surrounded by so much to do and experience. I visited and toured their rooms and location several times: thoroughly impressed by the cosy feel, beautifully furnished and attention to detail throughout. I cannot say enough good things about the team here. Helpful, responsive —thoughtful and attentive, surprising guests with small gestures that make a big impact. I have recommended the Heywood to several friends, couples, groups they absolutely loved it! Their experience was fantastic, thanks to the wonderful service and warm atmosphere. I highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again!

The Heywood is a great little boutique hotel! My room was clean and stocked with everything I needed. The people definitely know the meaning of hospitality. From reservations to checkout, they delivered top-notch service. Highly recommend!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Heywood Hotel in early September 2024 and we highly recommend the hotel and the location. This was our second visit and it won't be the last. The staff was warm, personable and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The location in East Austin is really interesting and enjoyable, though we did at times feel like we were the oldest people in Austin! There are plenty of terrific restaurants, coffee shops, and bars nearby and when we tired of eating and drinking, we walked the paths around Lady Bird Lake, a few short blocks away.

This is the most magnificent boutique hotel. The staff is lovely, the rooms are ever so thoughtful, comfortable with natural light on all sides. I truly didn't know how much Id love it here. The attention to detail and considerations really make this stay very special. We will be back.

Although I was only able to stay one night at The Heywood, that was enough time to reap the benefits of the accommodating, thoughtful and loving staff! Tempted by the ideal location and awesome bikes, I spent most of the time recharging in my room; a space that was truly its own peaceful bubble. The Heywood is an absolute GEM! One night did a world of good as my stay there genuinely helped prepare me for the difficult trip I was facing. Can’t recommend the property and team enough, thank you :)
