Motel 6 Fort Stockton, TX

You obviously get what you pay for, or what you don’t get for the lower price you paid. I needed a simple, clean, and inexpensive room for one night while driving from New Mexico to Austin, Texas. I’ve stayed at many Motel 6’s over the decades since they began and many of them are excellent, economical facilities. Some, however, are the older style buildings that have never been upgraded or maintained in the manner they should be. Unfortunately, the one in Ft. Stockton is one of these.||A handicap room with an oversized, roll-in type shower for wheelchairs is great, but why would you build such a facility for handicapped persons and install no grab-bars or handles of any kind, and no shelving inside the unit for shampoos and such? This one had none at all. I can stand up to shower, but my spinal issues require me to hold onto something at all times. It’s a fall risk for me and surely for many others who use such a facility.||There were also two main lights not working in my room. One was the closest lamp by the bed, and the other was the main large light over the sink. I had to shave by flashlight.||The standard in-room A/C unit had plainly visible buildup of caked dirt and dust in the vent filters. These have obviously not been cleaned in a very long time.||The landline phone in room was not functioning. I tried to call the manager/operator to get the WIFI password (which was not offered to me at sign-in) and had to walk back to the office.||The only option offered by the manager on duty for all these issues was to move me to another room, but all available rooms were upstairs. I had already unloaded my belongings into the handicap room (#131) in question. I have a spinal disability that makes stairs problematic, which is why I reserved a handicap room on the ground floor.||I don’t expect a luxury experience at Motel 6 even in the best of circumstances, but I do expect a clean and functional room regardless of the price–a room that has received at least all of the basic maintenance. I will not be returning to this property.

Room was clean, staff wasv friendly and helpful. I had trouble with the lock on my door and they immediately switched me to a different room. I would stay again.

Horrible! Resist the urge to stay here just because it's cheap. I've stayed in a lot of Motel 6 properties and this one is by far the worst, even worse than the one in Killeen that I previously thought was the worst. This place is understaffed and very poorly maintained. I stayed at the El Paso Airport Motel 6 on my way to Phoenix, and I could kick myself for driving past that location last night just so I could save a few bucks to stay at this one. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me!

Not a bad stay at all. For the rate and the quality of the room is stay again and call it a worth while deal. Fort Stockton doesn’t have much going on but you are close enough to everything here. Felt pretty safe, room was clean enough. The staff were super friendly though and check in was really nice, they are really why I give 5 stars 👍🏻

Location is great if you need a Walmart for traveling. Rooms look freshly modeled. It is not a Hilton but for the price I got much better them what to expect.

I just wanna take the time out to acknowledge the staff of motel 6. I was in a position of having nowhere to go and by the grace of God everyone at the motel came together to help me out and my dog 🐕 very pet friendly. Would definitely recommend 👌 could rate 10 stars 🌟 if I could. Thank you so much to everyone 💗
