DO NOT BOOK HERE!! Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in my life. Do not book here cause it’s a total scam. We booked this room through booking.com and had no idea that this hotel was anything like this and we only got it to be closer for a few days for the events we had planned and got there and it was disgusting. The guy at the desk was so rude and unfriendly or wasn’t helpful or accommodating at all. We were given keys to the original room and when we got to the room it hadn’t even been cleaned so we had to go downstairs to let them know. He only had a suite left so he gave us the suite but as soon as we walked in and cut the lights on we saw roaches smh. We immediately went downstairs to let him know we didn’t want the room anymore and they gave us the run around and we were told the desk attendant wasn’t allowed to give the refund. So here we are days later just to get an email saying that they won’t be giving us a refund for their dirty aaah roach infested hotel. So we never stayed and left immediately cause it was late and we were tired so we had to go book somewhere else. You can tell the owners are dirty and unprofessional and scammers. The entire Hotel and staff look the part. So I’m calling the health department and Grizzy news cause nobody has $500 to just give away and not get what we paid for.

I have never in my life stayed in something so low down and disgraceful! literally the worst experience ever! This was supposed to be a safe clean family oriented stay that turned into a nightmare! Let me start by saying this entire hotel needs to be SHUT DOWN! And the staff needs to be FIRED! The lady Mimi and the gentleman were the two most unpleasant pair I could’ve ever crossed in customer service! I was given “6” rooms. It took every bit of 2 hours for my Family to get settled being that each room we were provided was screwed up! Beds dirty; air not working; tv dosent have cords and then by the 5th time we were even given another guest room keys! We entered a completely occupied room! The 6th time while waiting for those keys the guest returned to say her key wasn’t working when she returned and it was because we had just left her room before and was downstairs returning keys to another jacked up room! The guest who also had almost the same complaints herself! The night staff NOT ONCE APOLOGIZED for any of the inconvenience and even had the audacity to be RUDE AS HELL! This was the worst experience ever! We needed quick accommodations for our family spring break trip beginning the next day at another resort and one night turned our entire trip sour! The rooms were dirty; beds were slept in. Carpet had stains, walls were filthy. At some point we were even itching! Google reviews are a lie!

Hotel does not look like the pictures. Very overpriced, not updated, smells. The couches in the rooms were dirty. The elevator was shaking during the ride. The jacuzzi was out of order. Staff personnel was not friendly. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Runnnn, then they charge a security deposit, but the rooms aren’t even worth the deposit. I’ll add pictures. Looks like bed bugs, but they might be dead. Since I cannot reply to the “owners response” we paid for 2 nights and due to the conditions of the room we refused to stay there. They denied our request for a refund AND our request to change rooms. We weren’t even there 20 mins. They literally only apologized when we escalated the call and refused to even acknowledge the fact the room was disgusting. They said the manager was the only person. To give refunds but the truth is they don’t give refunds. Please don’t waste y’all money on this trash hotel. We paid $350 total for two nights. I’m going to notify the health inspector about the room’s conditions.

I had a reservation for 25 April and attempted to contact the hotel prior to my arrival as my flight was delayed. Despite calling the phone number on my reservation and another number I found online, a person never answered. The hotel phone number went directly to an automated recording that I could select 1 and begin a chat. 7 phone calls later, no one ever responded to chat or messages left at the hotel (which was identified in the automated voice prompts). Never got a hotel shuttle and had to pay for a cab to the hotel. Upon arrival, I was told I had already checkin and there was a 15 minute wait to determine who was in "my room". The hotel is falling apart: missing ceiling tiles throughout; water dripping from ceiling with buckets throughout lobby; filthy, worn carpet in halls and rooms; broken fixtures and plugs in room; ancient and filthy furniture, A/C inop. When I contacted Sonesta, I was given a response by Joe Faris, guest relations, that stated, "We sincerely apologize for the many inconveniences you experienced during your stay." I requested a room refund or at least, reimbursement for my cab ride. Joe's response, "While we understand your frustration, we regret to inform you that, due to hotel policy, we are unable to issue a refund."

AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Sonesta Essentials Hobby Airport - A Horror Story This review is not merely a disappointment; it's a warning. My recent stay at the Sonesta Essentials Hobby Airport from February 28th to March 2nd was nothing short of a nightmare and a colossal waste of money. From the moment I arrived, the experience was riddled with issues that made me question if this was even a functioning hotel. Firstly, the basic function of identifying the hotel was a challenge. There was NO signage indicating the name of the hotel on the building or the door. I relied solely on Google Maps to confirm I was even in the right location – a truly unsettling start. The interior was even worse. The room was disgusting. Stains marred every surface – the walls, furniture, bed, and carpet all bore evidence of neglect and abuse. The pervasive odor was a nauseating cocktail of mold, mildew, and an unsettling undertone of what I suspect was urine and vomit. This wasn't just unclean; it was a health hazard. But the problems didn't stop there. Shortly after begrudgingly settling in, we discovered cockroaches crawling throughout the room. To add insult to injury, we were informed that the entire building was experiencing a complete water outage due to a burst pipe. This meant no showering, no brushing teeth, no handwashing, and no functioning toilets! The hallways were soaked, with industrial fans blasting, adding to the chaos and discomfort. One of the primary reasons for choosing this hotel was the advertised indoor pool. However, the pool was not only out of commission but appeared to be in a shockingly degraded state. Another amenity promised and another disappointment delivered. The intermittent water access on the second day was barely an improvement. When water did trickle through, it was freezing cold, rendering showers impossible. At least we could flush the toilet, but the experience remained utterly unacceptable. The most egregious offense was the non-refundable room policy, despite the utterly uninhabitable conditions. This felt like a blatant exploitation of customers and a complete disregard for basic hospitality. Even the complimentary breakfast was a disaster – cold sausage, no milk, and an overall unappetizing spread. Frankly, this hotel deserves ZERO stars. The Sonesta Essentials Hobby Airport is a disgrace and should be shut down immediately. It desperately needs new management, a complete overhaul, and a commitment to basic hygiene and customer service. This isn't just a bad hotel; it's a health code violation waiting to happen. Stay away. Run far away. You've been warned.
