The Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria

Hotel is definitely old and dated and the rooms need some work. The check in was smooth and seamless with great customer service. However, I noticed some additional charges that I shouldn’t have incurred. When I called they asked if I parked a vehicle which I made clear I didn’t when I got there but they still charged me for parking. They refunded that but also mentioned I had a “traveler” fee of $25 a day which was not mentioned until after check out. Would never stay again, there are other hotels around.

This is a great hotel and the location is great! It is a high traffic area of town so pack your patience. Manny will get you to local spots to eat, he is amazing!!! Room views are great. We were there at a conference for work with hundreds of people and they did pretty good at high volume check out. One drawback was the elevator. For a large hotel with 23 floors and a conference full of people, all 4 need to be in service. Having 2 working elevators was a nightmare, especially on the day of checkout. Other than that, things were great.

Hello!|I wanted to let you know that Francisco Perez at the Royal Sonesta in the Galleria is outstanding! We had stayed at another nearby hotel 6 months ago. This stay at the Royal Sonesta was fantastic! Francisco did a wonderful job of taking care of our folks during our large conference. Everyone was able to relax and felt super taken-care-of! Francisco was there to help us throughout the evenings and we had a wonderful time!! He checked on us throughout the evening and ensure that everyone was taken care of – he is a true professional focused on customer service!!

Alma, a waitress in the hotel restaurant, is the best! She greated us each morning with a warm smile and kind words. She was attentive and very personable. Having a great interaction at 7:30 in the morning started the whole day off right. Thank you Alma! |The valet staff was great, kind and efficient, they also had very kind and respectful interactions each time we called for the car. |I do believe this hotel has some of the kindest people in TX working for them!

Positive: The employees were amazing. They greeted their guest and us with water and beverages before we even checked in. They were so nice to us we felt very welcomed. Negative: Of course there?s no free breakfast. The parking is $45 a night for valet OR $35 for self parking. The toilet flushed very slowly and didn?t flush all the way down. When we arrived our door didn?t even close all the way. Maintenance had to come fix it.

Rooms were fine, clean but nothing special. 2 stars, beacuse during booking they charged me for cleaning fee - thats fine, however I left room clean, have not took any stuff like water, and they still charged me extra 25$ after a week - for what?

I had a great stay at the Royal Sonesta! The room and bed was great and the location can't be beat! The staff is wonderful and would like to give a special thanks to Laura for going above and beyond to assist me! Will definitely be back!

The restaurant staff are incredible. The customer service that Alma provided was extraordinary. She called me by name, and made breakfast the best experience ever. Alma's smile and care was a great start to my day. The blueberry pancakes were amazing.
