Sonesta ES Suites Houston Galleria

Don't let the bad reviews turn you away. We have stayed here twice with our kids and everyone has been great at accommodating our stay. Both stays were for medical reasons and the rooms were very clean. The convenience of a kitchen and full size fridge has helped us save money on eating out too. I'd say the only downfall is the laundry situation. It is not ideal and needs to pay for each load. Washer and dryer are old too, def needs updating. However, there is a cleaner across the street that does laundry. We will continue to stay here for long term stays as they offer a great price.

Nice central location in Houston. The hotel was clean and had recently had new carpet installed. The room was big, the kitchen came fully stocked with anything you’d need to cook and it was all very clean. Parking was free and secure. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast was a good selection.

Beautiful room, perfect location with access to the Galleria. They need security with the guts to kick out people beyond belief. Family of loud morons were down the hall from me. Family did not quiet themselves after 3 times I heard managers knock on their door to calm them down. Nothing changed for 3 hours of noise until I heard 4 manager talking. And I stepped out & went stonecold off on them. Not another peep after that.

**Editing to say, it was not 24 hours for the transaction to fall off. I am now at day 3, if I give a full 24 hours. I am aware of the general 7-10 business days for that, but it was specifically stated, 24 hours. I cant give any rating or opinion on the rooms, as we didn’t get that far. When we arrived at the hotel for check in, we were told there was no water and it would be off for about an hour as they were trying to fix something dealing with the hot water. So we set off to find a restroom. When we arrived back to the hotel about 30ish minutes later, we were told there was NO hot water and he asked us what we wanted to do. After being on the road for hours, we just wanted to relax. We opted to cancel our reservation and move to a different hotel. Note to people, while they release your credit card charge, it’s still taking 24 hours to get back, so have a back up way to pay. Also, reading other reviews from months ago, this water issue isn’t new and they have yet to fix it! It is getting very run down. Screens on outside windows ripped up. Chairs in food area are torn up, walls missing parts where they haven’t fixed it. It also looks that they have long term people staying there. Again, I cannot say anything about the rooms. But I’d choose something else. The pictures online are deceiving. I will Say that check in was easy and they were polite and kind.

Great location walking distance to the Waterfall, several restaurants, and the Galleria. The kitchen is small but has all the amenities you might need including a two burner stove and an actual fridge not just a tiny dorm fridge which means it has a proper freezer. I do wish the pillows were more supportive, I woke up with neck pain but they weren't the worst I've encountered. The breakfast was decent. Overall a great value.

You want to like it. The location is good. It is clean....HOWEVER, I have taken 2 cold showers and asked each day to have this fixed. They sent someone yesterday but still cold this morning. I asked again this morning, and upon return this evening, shower still cold. Looks like another cold shower in the morning. Other places to stay at this price point in the Galleria. Would not recommend...

WORST hotel I have ever been to. Do not stay here… the smell was awful, pool not useable, corridors unpainted. Clothing form guest before left in the room so questioning if it was cleaned. The room did not smell very nice ,We lasted a hour before we left it was that bad.

This facility is very outdated everywhere. It looked as though they were repairing some major issues within all the hallways. The lights in the bathroom did not work, there was no water upon sign in, and it lacked hot water when the water was on. Everything about this extended stay was old, raggedy, and "ify" at best. The furniture, especially the sleeper sofa, was dirty looking and therefore we never utilized. Electrical in the kitchen was also sketchy. The lobby smelled like wet animals. A positive is that the parking lot had ample parking spaces and the room had a desk. For this location to be near the galleria, it has not been updated, and the cost is not worth what you get. I hope to never patronize this hotel again.
