Hyatt House Houston/Galleria

Hotel needs a face lift. One of 2 elevators were out of order. This resulted in a 5 minute walk to our room instead of 2 minutes. Not a huge deal, but having to walk to the end of the corridor to get to the second elevator and then to walk the same distance to get to your room was more irritating knowing there was a closer elevator that management is obviously not repairing with urgency given the worn out signs. Might consider staying again if the price is right. Otherwise, does not carry the HYATT name very well.

Nice room. Bedroom TV is the smallest I've seen in a while. Walk in shower, but small bathroom w/ separate sink/mirror. Quiet place in a residential area, no businesses in walking distance. Gated parking garage. Breakfast was decent.

This hotel was really great. It is well kept up, and my room was very comfy and cozy. The bed was comfortable, and I was able to get really good sleep. This hotel was also very quiet compared to other hotels that I have stayed at in the area. I highly recommend booking here.

Giving five stars because this place is a total bargain for the location and had everything necessary for a brief stay. Not the glitziest hotel in the area but you get a gated parking garage (ours was very close to our room - super convenient!). Room was not huge but had everything necessary for our overnight stay and was very clean. Breakfast included hot food and some fresh and healthy options (very welcome since so many places mostly have pre-packaged, processed food). Staff were very pleasant and responsive to requests. We are bookmarking the Hyatt House for future Houston visits. Thank you!

We have been staying here for years, and the service has always been good, but we can clearly see that you’ve upped the customer service significantly. While the team members were helpful and did a satisfactory job, Ms. Queenie was truly exceptional. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and warm approach made all the difference. She went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was seamless and enjoyable. The customer service overall was perfect, and it’s evident that her leadership plays a significant role in maintaining such high standards. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, making our stay even more comfortable and pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This review is about property management and their failure to meet their most basic obligation of fulfilling bookings or providing appropriate service and resolution when they cannot. My family made a reservation at the Hyatt House Galleria in February 2024 for a stay over Thanksgiving. We booked a two-bedroom suite, but upon check-in, we were informed that the room type was overbooked and we would be given a standard room instead. This room type did not meet the needs of my family, and we would not have chosen this property had we known that this is the type of room we would be given. Realizing that the hotel would not be able to accommodate our needs and provide the room we had already booked and paid for, we decided to check out after the first of four nights. We were assured that we would receive a refund of our Hyatt points used for the reservation and that property management would reach out to discuss the situation. Unfortunately, neither happened. We then spent two months and over ten calls/emails with corporate Hyatt to finally secure a refund, despite originally being told at checkout it would take 3-5 business days to receive the refund. While it was the property's responsibility to issue the refund, they never did. Corporate Hyatt finally got tired of the lack of responsiveness they encountered with property management and issued the refund directly (because they recognized it was the right thing for them to do). It is incredibly disappointing that the only reason we ultimately received a refund was because corporate Hyatt stepped in on behalf of the property after two months of us chasing our refund. This experience reflects terrible customer service by an incredibly poorly managed property. They have lost a customer who would have been staying there every year over Thanksgiving.

Visited the hotel upon first glance, the rooms were kind of dingy and outdated with visible holes and water stain stains. Upon returning one day, I found two cockroaches in my room as well which is absolutely disgusting. Looks like they came from behind the fridge and out of the closet. Although the front desk girl was very nice and polite, and switched me rooms immediately which I appreciated. Over all not a great experience.

We had a two bedroom. The living room had no windows and was very dark. The ice maker in our kitchen didn't work although the refrigerator made noise all day like it was trying to make ice. The rooms are very outdated and not near the Galleria, you definitely need a car to get there. Next time I will choose a more modern hotel.
