NillDO NOT STAY HERE. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in with the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My connecting flight got cancelled out of Dallas so I needed to find a place to stay overnight. This location had a room and I checked in at 1am. I had to call for someone to come down to check me in and the man came down in pajamas and clearly did not want to be there. I get to my room (it was a gross one already, mind you), fall asleep, then get woken up by a COCKROACH crawling on my FACE. I called the front desk saying I needed a new room and was rudely interrupted by him saying there were no other rooms. Not one sorry to me and not one concern for his room having roaches or for the fact that it was on my face while I slept. I told him that I was not going to stay in there and needed a new room and then of course one magically opened up. I told him I would not be paying for that room and would be needing a refund. The next morning I left at 7:30am and he was not there. The woman I talked to said the best they could do was a 15% discount. That's only $12...completely unacceptable. Ever since, I have been trying to get in contact with the manager when the other staff is telling me he will be there but somehow every time I call he is gone. Not one time has anyone apologized for their room having roaches or acknowledged how disgusting it is to not only have a roach in your room but to have one crawling on your FACE for god knows how long while you sleep. I have been calling for days and am still being told that I can only get 15%. This is completely unacceptable and the staff there could literally care less. If this were a restaurant and a plate of food came out with a roach on it there would be apologies, a new plate of food, and a comped meal. It was a medium sized roach which means there were more hiding somewhere else, but that is clearly no concern to them. A couple of their reasons for not refunding me completely are that my room was "upgraded" (remember, this is after the manager told me there were no rooms) and because I completed my stay and didn't leave...It was 3:00 IN THE MORNING where else was I supposed to go?!? This was an $80 room with a discount. It is absolutely insane that there is no care in the world by these people and I am warning you to stay away.

NillMy American Airlines flight (6496) was delayed, and I was provided an overnight stay at this hotel. After landing at DFW Airport, I called the shuttle number listed on the hotel pass. The person assured me that the shuttle was on its way. However, I waited for nearly 50 minutes, and during that time, I saw multiple shuttles—3 to 4 each—from other hotels pass by, but not a single one from Hawthorn. This long wait after a tiring day of travel was frustrating and disappointing. If you're considering staying here through an airline arrangement or booking directly, I would strongly recommend exploring other options. Reliable and timely shuttle service is a basic expectation, and unfortunately, it was not met in this case. Update: At last, after 1 hour 20 minutes I notice the shuttle “The North Hotel” has named Hawthorn along with other 5 different hotel, I have asked the driver and he said yes he can take me. The receptionist didn’t tell me about this during my conversation with him, I also didn’t notice the name in other shuttles. Inside the room, I will say it’s super substandard! It’s probably cheaper but I feel bad smells comes from everything, the fitting are very old and broken. See the picture of a chair of my room!

NillNeeded a room for one night for a flight delay. Customer service isn't great, and the shuttle takes long. Grateful for an inexpensive place to sleep, but it's not my first choice. I'm a rewards member, so I guess it depends on the city. Hotel smelled like smoke, room was decent, tv worked.

★This is pertaining to the Hawthorne suites on Heathrow Drive, DFW north. This is a former Extended StayAmerica property. I stayed here under previous management a couple times in late 2023 and early 2024. I didn’t return until May 2025 because my travel needs had changed. I was aware during my absence that the ownership had changed and that they were supposedly renovating and remodeling the property. This is day one of my stay so maybe it will get better but I have to say it looks exactly the same. Which is to say it is shabby, Badly in need of renovation, and not super clean. I couldn’t get the room open because apparently you have to pull the handle up even though it’s a lever handle, which would normally go down. I had tried it up and down and even put my shoulder into the door, but it wouldn’t open. Front desk, guy stomped down the hallway and opened the door for me and left without saying a word. He was very rude and seems annoyed that he had to spend time helping me get into the room.
