stumbled across this little boutique hotel by accident what a gym. The restaurant was amazing, we had rack of lamb and a wedge salad. The room was very comfortable roommate and well appointed the bed and linens were very comfortable, and they offered multiple toiletries and towels, more than your major chain hotels. The girl that helped us check in was very polite and very helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend.

Great automated hotel experience. I used to live in Lubbock and visit usually once a year or so. I’ve stayed at a wide variety of hotels, and Pioneer Pocket remains my favorite. A great location with everything you might need in the building - a restaurant, coffee shop and convenience store. Downtown Lubbock is only one small part of the city’s overall experience and Lubbock is not a walking friendly city in general so I always recommend a car to explore. The check in process was easy. The hotel reached out via text to confirm details and to give me general updates leading up to my arrival. Check in details were clear and easy to follow. Things were very clearly marked! I stayed in the most basic room and it was perfect. The exact quality of anything at over more expensive hotels in the area. The room itself was clean, had waters, coffee, and a wide variety of toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the room was very cool when I arrived in the middle of summer. The hotel floor had a vending machine with drinks and snacks. Check out was super simple as well, and I have no issues with the process. Looking forward to my next stay at Pioneer Pocket next time I am in town.

I cannot say enough great things about this gem of a hotel! The service was wonderful, as were the rooms. Very comfortable beds, spacious and beautiful rooms, and bathrooms. It was so nice and clean. We have, now, found our go-to place to stay when we are in Lubbock!

This hotel has three food & beverage establishments attached to it -- a coffee shop, a bar, and a bar & grill. Around 10:30am this Thursday I stopped by the coffee shop to buy a water, only to find it entirely dark and empty. I went inside the hotel lobby to see if I could find directions to the nearest place to buy water, but the lobby was empty and there was no front desk. I entered the bar, which was the only place I could find with staff inside, and asked if they could sell me a water. They declined, and directed me back to the coffee shop. I explained it was dark and empty, but they said it should be open and there's probably just lamps on, so I went back to the coffee shop, this time through the lobby. It was still dark and empty. Also, I was visibly navigating with a white cane and no one helped me, even when their directions were to go back to the dark coffee shop? Terrible service. I hope the rooms are nicer than the lobby. Edit: Edited to fix typos because, well, partially sighted.

We booked this last minute and rolled in about 9:30 pm. The streets in this area of downtown LBK were deserted but we found a parking space quickly and went right upstairs. Check in was seamless. THe room was meat locker cold and very prettily decorated. I loved the old pictures from LBK yesteryears. Our bed was so comfortable as were the pillows. I appreciated the small Keurig for coffee in the am, as well as the bottles of water. The only down side of this stay was the very small shower (think cruise ship sized shower) 🧼 and that there was nothing within walking distance for restaurants. Still, I would book this again in a heart beat!!

We stayed in the Mac Davis Suite. This is a hybrid condo and hotel. There is no formal desk for hotel check-in, but there is an office during working hours. We checked in late in the evening after a long drive. The instructions and codes for the suite were accurate and easy to follow. Instructions for parking could have been better, but we figured it easily enough. There was a great information sheet on amenities and nearby businesses that could provide what we needed. The suite was clean and as advertised. We could hear activity in the hallway, but it wasn't bad. There were TV monitors in both the sitting area and opposite the bed. The bed was super comfy. My only complaint about the bed is that an extra blanket might have been nice, as it was winter. It felt very good to stay in a downtown location in a building with history in the Lubbock area. It was lovely to see young energy in this part of Lubbock and I sincerely hope that effort continues. I loved that it was close to the Buddy Holly Center and the bricked roads. My husband loved the Lubbock Brewery downstairs. Lubbock deserves a beautiful downtown district.

We were driving from Austin to New Mexico for a little getaway and decided at the last minute to spend the night in Lubbock. I came across the Millsap Suites and it looked like a step up from your average roadside hotel, even though it cost less, so I gave it a shot.||||What a pleasant surprise! The suite was huge and really nicely decorated. Our son slept on the sleeper sofa and said it was actually comfortable. Everything was clean and we loved the mini fridge and water pressure in the shower. The location is FANTASTIC- you are right across the street from the best restaurant in Lubbock and an excellent brewery. We loved the convenience of pulling our car up to our door and not having to use an elevator or steps to carry our bags.||||The only bummer was the lack of blackout shades. There was an outside light that we could see through our window throughout the night. Bring a sleep mask if this kind of stuff bothers you!||||Overall, it was an excellent stay. We loved it so much we stayed in the same room on our way back home!

We had a great experience at the hotel. Decided to stay an extra night and received a discounted rate. The room was nice and clean with a very comfortable king-size bed. The wine refrigerator and microwave were handy, and a large bathroom with high-quality shampoo and conditioner was much appreciated. Some rooms may have a view of downtown but the Vineyard room does not, which was not a big deal to us. The best part of our stay was having a topnotch restaurant and brewery in the same building. The staff at both places were super friendly and knowledgeable. As far as not having hotel management on-site, we did not experience any difficulties. Check-in and out was simple and efficient. Any questions we had were answered quickly by text. We definitely recommend the hotel for a nice, quiet getaway!
