"I can’t say enough great things about the Mountain View Motor Inn in Fort Garland! The owner, Frank, is phenomenal, and it’s wonderful to have him back running the place. You can really see the improvements as things are getting cleaned up and refreshed. They have done a fantastic job creating such a friendly atmosphere, and Olivia, who runs the front, is absolutely amazing! It truly feels like home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area!

This lodge's the beds were very comfy and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. You have to eat at the diner next door that os associated with the lodge! The food was amazing and plentiful for the price. The price of the lodge was affordable that we were able to stay extra days. Thank you all for providing us a great get away stay!

What a gem!! The rooms were very cozy and clean. We didn't expect a Hilton with modern amenities but was so very impressed with how clean and new some things were. The sheets were very soft and felt like home. The towels were also soft and not stiff stark white. The lady and young girl at the front desk were sweet and welcoming. Was a great place to take a break in a long day of traveling.

Great little spot right in Ft. Garland. Perfect for a nights stopover or a weekend stay while touring the valley or the dunes. Room was very clean, soft warm bed with newer sheets, everything worked and quite comfortable. Friendly staff and you must must must get breakfast or dinner down the street !! Best food in the valley !! And you'll get $5 off with your motel receipt.

The accommodation was perfectly located for a visit to the Great Sand Dunes National Park, being only a 30-minute drive away. The lodging was very clean and well-kept. I was satisfied with the bed as well. We arrived late, but were greeted warmly and checked in swiftly. Notably, I accidentally left some of my belongings behind, and the staff kindly called me personally to inform me, ensuring my items were safely stored until I could retrieve them. Overall, the clean room, friendly staff, and great location left a very positive impression.

If you need clean and easily-accessible accommodations when visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park, this is a good option. There are not many in this area to begin with, so the surged price was expected. However we did expect that the Internet would at least be working and the clearly missing spot for a fire detector in the room was a bit concerning. The mattress was new and Tempur-Pedic, and the atmosphere was quiet with good parking options. If you make the effort all of the way out here, it is definitely worth stopping at the impressive Fort Garland Museum, which is located barely a one-minute drive around the corner.

I slept great there. It is charming, and the room I had was clean and quiet. I liked the entire vibe and i can tell this privately owned place is well maintained and professionally cared for. Unlike some other places I just felt very good and slept like a baby. I do want to say since it is an older building (with hallways inside) I had a bit of luck that my room was at the end of the hall on the second story (top floor). I do not know about what the noise level would be in the other rooms, but my room was very quiet.
