Motel 6 Tampa, FL - Fairgrounds

Better bring your own refreshments, ice, coffeemaker otherwise you are walking down the street to the store for everything. If you don’t have change for the laundry, neither does the desk clerk. What does this place have going for it? Well if you like the smell of cat piss say no more. Also ignorant people cursing and yelling In their rooms, in the hallways and in the parking lot. Half naked old men feeding a large amount of hot dogs to a large number of feral cats by putting pans of food underneath guests vehicles then this is the place for you. I’ve been here 4 days now and I think it will definitely be the last time. The front desk guy was friendly and as helpful as he could be. Do yourself a favor. Skip this one. Motel 6 needs to turn that light off.

It was almost impossible to get a room here because the girl working the front desk barely spoke English. The room was passable at best, but after 2 days on the road, a bed is a bed. Tried to check out the next day and was ignored at the window for a solid 10 minutes so I just left. Place needs better staff. They did price match my Expedia price, but it took 3 people to do so.

Stay anywhere else. This place is nasty and I checked out 3 days early because of the conditions. The floor is bare and so slippery and dirty I had to keep my socks on. I used a towel by my side of the bed and after stepping onto it for traction - I picked it up and it was pretty bad. No top sheet on the bed so it’s the fitted and a thin blanket ( which is that changed every check out?) and a coverlet. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner- there wasn’t any. Plus the smell. The little freezer in the mini fridge has not been defrosted in forever. Things were just sticky and it needs a good deep clean. Yuck. The one good thing was the extremely helpful night desk clerk. He was kind and polite.

Stayed here June 13-15. Was one of the worst places I have ever stayed! First room they put me in had a huge stain on the bed and tv screen was cracked. The front desk told me all other rooms were booked until I called corporate, which got me another room in about 25 minutes. Service is not the best, far from clean and very dated. Would never recommend this location, never!!!

I booked over the phone with Tyler and received a rate of 81 dollars and some change per night. I needed the room for March 22- March 25. When I showed up it wasn’t the price I was quoted 81 plus change, it went up to 89.95 for March 22 and 99.00 for March 23 and 24th and I was not told about the 100.00 refundable deposit that had to be paid. Definitely a bait and switch transaction. Plus he didn’t tell me about the different rates until after he ran my credit card. ( Not very good business practices) Then once I walked up to my room the trash can was full with , nasty clothing sitting on top of it. I opened the door to walk down the hall to room 309 and there was a terrible odor in the hall and trash all over the hallway and then went to the first room he provided for me and it was missing the back of the toilet. It was hair all over the bathtub. I returned back to the front desk to speak with Tyler and he provided me a second room key and I went into that bedroom. It had bedbugs and trash all over it, and you will see as I provide the pictures they have gotten rid of all of the mattresses and they’re sitting in the dumpster that I will provide pictures for as well. Then I did request a refund from Tyler and he stated that he needed to speak with the owner, but he had already spoke with the owner to increase the price so now we’re gonna send this review so that child are well aware of what’s going on and I book at this hotel or motel should I say?

While traveling with family and dogs we stopped here just to find a shower and beds for the night. If I had known what I would find, I never would have allowed my family anywhere near this hotel. We did not feel safe. The first room that was assigned had been broken into. The key card scanner had been popped off. There was trash in the hallway and more outside. A car was broken down near our room and some guy was working on his truck. Another guy was walking his dog off leash. We heard every fart, sneeze, curse, and foot stomp from all of the surrounding rooms until early in the next morning. There was a pervasive funk throughout the building and both the floors in the room and the carpet in the hall were sticky. There were card locks to get into the building but they had been disabled. Overall, this was a nightmare and none of us got any rest.

I was in town for a business meeting and had to find a place to stay at the very last minute and when I called I spoke to a man on the phone by the name of Tyler and he answered all my questions and concerns and got me a nice room booked at a very reasonable price. He was also the one to help check me in and was so polite and helpful even when I had to complain because my ac was not cooling the room so He sent maintenance down and the issue was addressed quickly. I would definitely book here again because of the location and the excellent customer service.

Hotels.com had higher overall reviews and we stayed here…. I wish I would have read the reviews here on google first. Customer service was fine but the overall state of the whole facility is just bad. Very outdated, It looks like they either DIY’d or hired someone off the street to hang fixtures and install outlets and things… I booked it as two staying and there were only one set of towels.(didn’t realize until we were getting out of the shower so it was to late to fix that with them) our sheets had stains and we had to ask a housekeeper to replace them. The main light when you walk in the door doesn’t work. The floor boards are falling apart and there is rust on everything metal and holes in walls. I saw a roach run and ride when I came out of the bathroom after the shower. Don’t stay here. I don’t trust motel 6 at all anymore.
