Motel 88

I remember staying here back in 2022 on an autumn road trip to Maine and it was a fun experience. Walked to pizza land and had so many places within walking distance of the motel. It's like a sketch of family guy being here. I look forward to going back again this year.

Got there in the mid afternoon and the place looked deserted. Check in was OK but when I got to my assigned room the nightmare began. As I parked I noticed a toddler running around the parking lot in diapers while its parents looked on from a broken chair. A little later some crack head set up shop across from my room and blared music while he rolled around on the sidewalk. I called management and complained. They said they would talk to him. Things quieted for a couple of hours, but started up later in the evening when two more druggies joined him and cursed, coughed their lungs up from whatever they were smoking, and yelled throughout the night until 4 AM. No sleep for me and management had disappeared. The room had fragrance beads dumped into the HVAC vents and behind the bed which made a completely choking environment. The wall paper was peeling, the chairs wobbled as it they had been previously broken, and the bathroom was missing the towel bar. Taking a shower could cost you your life as the tub was peeling, slippery and had nothing to hold onto. The advertised restaurant was non-existent. It appears that the place is a now section 8 housing with a few rooms that fraud as motel rooms. If you like being in hell this is the place for you.

Great place, great price. One of the cleanest hotels we could find on short notice. I read some of the other reviews after we had gotten our 2 rooms and we were blown away. They may be a little short on staff but that is the only thing other than that great overall the old man who booked us in even offered to show us the room first and was very kind the whole time.

I thought this place was going to be super cute to stay at. Its off the beaten path which is nice as far as quietness goes. The rooms were dirty. Carpets stained. Room smelled really musty. Bathroom tile on walls was good but the tub was old and gross. Also stood ankle deep in water because the tub didnt drain EVERYTHING was extreemly outdated and not in a fun way. The ceiling fan didnt work, half the lights didnt work. The air conditioning sucked. And oh yea the lobby is inside what looks to be a really dingey chineese resturant.

Folks were very nice. I stayed in room 129 and it was dated in some aspects, but clean. I was worried about odors since some rooms are smoking, but it had no smell whatsoever. Although I am a light sleeper, I slept great. The bed was firm and it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. It's in a central location that is close to a lot of restaurants. Took off one star because the water could've been warmer.

Check in was surprisingly efficient even though operator was behind all this covid barrier stuff. Price was good and they got our large party in consecutive doors so, they know about customer service.|They really need to make several upgrades. Our mini fridge didn't work, the clock didn't work, shower was only warm enough to tolerate. AC was either on full blast or off could not regulate room temperature efficiently.|Looks clean and it was comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep.

Decent room - clean linens and air conditioner and tv worked well. The bathroom was updated. Very good price. The only thing was that it looked like someone was getting evicted from a long term living situation (Very Sketchy). But they were at the other side of the motel and did not cause any issues.

The bed was comfy, and the shower pressure was great. Lots of channels on the tv as well. The ac unit in my room was broken, and it was really hot in there. Room looked like it could be cleaner, corner spiders, and some other dirty spots, but the sheets and the towels were clean. For the price, it was as expected though
