This is the second time i have been in varanasi for one month each trip, and Marigold is your “like home” there!!! Close to ghats, you are in a silent place, coloured beautiful rooms, AC fans, all for your well- in a super clean ambiance. ||And the Host… Sona is much much more than a host!!! A friend, a simpatical and available man! in case of needs : health, organisation, food, pick up, visits and morning yoga HE IS THE ONE! (Always smiling like a family guy)||So, varanasi is Marigold, for a deep and holy peaceful moment 🙏🏻

Marigold Guest house is a quiet, spotlessly clean and very comfortable place to stay in one of the best locations in Varanasi. It's in the old part of the city right by the Ghats you'll want to visit in the evening. The host Sonu is warm and welcoming. We booked a very reasonably priced tour on the Ganges first thing in the morning with Sonu as he operates tours that use rowing boats. It's a beautiful experience I recommend it highly above the motor boats. I've been visiting India for 20 years and this is one of the nicest places to stay. Great hosting, inexpensive and beautifully located.

Marigold Guest House is absolutely the perfect place to stay in Varanasi.|The place is clean and very looked after.|I booked the single room, which was not super big but clean and very cosy, equipped with the necessary, bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious, tidy with hot water.|There are so many books at the entrance and a pleasant couch where you can read and relax.|From the rooftop you have a beautiful view of the Ganga and the city and Sonu organizes super nice yoga lessons.|Position is great, in a quiet and so colourful street, only two minutes walk from the main ghats and close to a lot of nice restaurants and temples.|Very good valute for money.|Sonu, the manager, is the best host in the world! He is so helpful, giving you great advices and tips, he really cares about the guests and to make an enjoyable stay for them.|He also offers sunrise and sunset boat tour to see the beauty of Varanasi from the river.|I will go back for sure for my next trip to Varanasi.|Definitely recommended! :)

The Marigold Guest House is in a perfect location for exploring Varanasi. Right above the ghats and just a few minutes’ walk from the main ghat. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We especially loved having breakfast at Aadha-Aadha cafe in the same alley, just a few feet away.||||The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of room to put our things. While the room has a private bathroom, it’s across the common patio, which was surprising, but not a huge issue as few guests venture up to the rooftop and the other room on that level was en-suite. ||||Mr. Sonu, the owner, was super responsive and helpful throughout. It was an easy booking and easy stay, and we will definitely stay at Marigold Guest House next time we visit Varanasi.

This is a very comfortable and clean guesthouse situated in a perfect location. It is literally just a minute's walk from the gates, as well as cafes and restaurants, yet it is nestled in a quiet side alley. I stayed there in February 2025 during an exceptionally busy time when Varanasi was flooded with pilgrims from the nearby Kumbh Mela site. I truly appreciated being able to relax at the guesthouse after a long day of navigating the noise and crowds.|The rooms and attached bathrooms are spotless, and the mattresses are incredibly comfortable—something that isn't always guaranteed in accommodations at this price point. On the top floor, there is a lovely rooftop that offers wonderful views of the Ganges and the ghats.|Sonu, the manager, helped us arrange our departure and transfer to our next destination. He is remarkably honest and trustworthy, and he can answer any questions about Varanasi. Overall, I felt safe and secure during my stay.|I will definitely choose to stay at Marigold Guesthouse again the next time I travel to Varanasi.

Marigold guesthouse had been a wonderful surprise for me. I am a solo traveller girl and I always look for well positioned, safe and clean accomodation, but Marigold had been even more of all these for me. The rooms are clean and spacious (I had to stay just 2 days and I ended with 10 so I had the occasion to see 2 different types of accomodations), with all you need (even a kettle).The position is amazing, right near a ghat and situated in the middle of all the famous Varanasi little streets. Shower is hot (no need of the bucket). What makes the difference is Sonu, the owner: we did yoga every morning on the terrace (you see Ganga and Varanasi from there), an early morgning boat trip (he was so passionate in explaining interesting curiousities and facs, one of the best experiences of all my staying) and, last but not list, the guesthouse offers also a massage service (very professional). He was so helpful, suggesting me places he knew I could love to visit, helping me in booking the trains and also accepting some Amazon package i didn't know where to delivere. I'll be back for sure!!

The hotel is very simple and welcoming, you feel right at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well lit. There is a terrace overlooking the Ganges where you can do yoga. Sonu is a more than friendly host, he really makes you feel like family and it is a pleasure to talk to him. The location is very strategic, as it is close to great cafes, the Ganges and shops, but on a quiet and peaceful street.

Great rooms and location. Sonu is a great host and guide with amazing local knowledge, definitely recommend Marigold Guest house for your trip to Varanasi.||Sonu also does river boat tour which are fantastic, it was the highlight of our trip.
