Recently I had a stay there. Rooms were good, full of antique furnitures. Food is purely homemade and very tasty. View is great. You can go for a walk within the campus. You can see the Peacocks from the corridor itself. One thing was missing in the room is Doormat in front of the washroom.

We recently stayed at Silvergate Homestay in Chikmagalur for 2 nights with a group of 9 friends, and overall, it was a mixed experience although the cost was on the premium side. What we loved: The property is huge and surrounded by stunning lush green scenic views. It offers a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms were clean, spacious, and had a welcoming ambience that made us feel comfortable right away. The location is very serene, and the peaceful calmness around the area was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. It is also very close to the city that everything is at a 10-15mins drive away. The highlight for us was the pool, which was well-maintained and added to the fun and relaxation. What needs improvement: Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. The meals were always served cold, and the menu was extremely limited. We were hoping for a variety of local dishes or something more exciting, but it fell short in both quality and variety. The food on the first day was at its worst—bland, cold, and far from what we expected. The kitchen manager was unresponsive and seemed completely disinterested in our requests. On several occasions, he forgot our orders or got them wrong. His lazy and ignorant attitude really affected our dining experience. He was even reluctant to refill the dishes on the buffet counters. On a positive note, the cleaning staff and other staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate us, but the kitchen manager’s behavior overshadowed their efforts. I would give 0 stars for the food aspect of the stay, but the overall property and environment were fantastic. If they can seriously improve the dining experience, this place could easily be a 4-star stay.

Excellent home stay in chickmaglur. We went as a group of 11 and had a great time here for a day! There is good amount of space to play and also a great swimming pool with nice view ! Food was very good and we all had a great time ! cleanliness was as top notch and the servants were very kind and cooperative! One of the best home stays in chickmaglur

Property is beautiful, lush greens , well maintained pool and good space for kids to play. Deepa is a wonderful host and all the people working on the property are so hospitable and kind! The food quality and quantity is really amazing. Evening snack was back to back coming with variety of starters Perfect place for a family get together. Rooms are neatly maintained. I would definitely visit again…

Me and my family went for a trip near chitradurga and after that we have decided to visit beautiful city Chikkamagaluru.It was a last minute plan and we choose to stay Silver gate .Because I already visited 5 year agod with my friends.Rooms and room service was very good same as the past, lunch , dinner everything was excellent.. thanks for service from Stephan and the owner of resort also very good . They have provided whatever we asked . Thanks . I recommend this stay for everyone who wants to feel nature in peace .

This place does not even be rated 1 out of 5. Since I don't have that option, giving 1 rating. If anyone has given 5 rating to this home stay, then they are just doing false marketing so people like us fall prey to them. Cons 1. Worst service - No professionalism, rude staff 2. Food - Pathetic food. They serve you stale food. For breakfast, they served left over rice from previous days dinner, kitchen staffs don't even listen to what we say, they give you evening starters only if you keep asking, they don't bother about customer satisfaction and service . They did not serve the starters and when we questioned about it during checkout, the in charge does not even listen and instead of taking feedback and taking corrective action, not ready to listen just says thr is no such complaints till date . 3. Tv - they don't have proper internet service 4. Owner does not bother about customer service or to correct anything about feedback. They are just money minded. Pros 1. Property is lush green as per pictures and that's the only positive thing about this place If you are able to arrange your own food without dependent on this home stay, then you can try this place at your own risk. Definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.
