I have visited Chibbo Retreat vary recently and stayed there for 3 days. Rooms are neat and clean. Owner and caretakers of the property are very polite. They make my trip even more memorable. They provide momos as per our request and those are delicious. Though for bad weather condition we could not enjoy views which can be seen from its balcony. I would love to visit there again to experience the beautiful views and momo. Only con of the property is it's approaching road which is very scary. Either way I will visit this property for sure.

Great Homestay to stay in Kalimpong. Rooms have excellent view. But the approach road is horrendous. Unless you drive an SUV, you will have to park the car on the road. Go with your car only if you are an expert driver. Food was good. Service was great. Little far from main Kalimpong market.

I wish I could give 0stars to this horrible place. This is about 2years back. The place is beautiful no doubt, but the owners take advantage cuz you aren't a local. Even though one of our friends could speak Nepali, these people are uncouth and they will threaten you for small issues. First of all it was the most expensive home stay in the entire package (yes homes) and to top that they ruined the only night we stayed there by fighting. We were forced to pay extra and we were 3girls and never have I felt so unsafe.

This is one of the best homestays in an offbeat location you can find near Kalimpong city (4km from main city), within reasonable price. Surrounded by forests on one side and mountains on other(visible from balcony), it offers stunning views. if you get lucky and skyline is clear, Kanchenjunga might also peek up from your balcony. There 5-6 cottages, each having 3-4 people capacity. The service is on point (snacks, dinner timings are a little bit strict to my liking though) and all essential equipments in room like geysers are well maintained. Bonfires and barbeques are also readily available if you request them. Coming to food, it was bittersweet. My recommendation would be to comply whatever they offer in their menu and not put special requests. We requested for chicken pakora in snacks and chilly chicken for dinner which did not turn out well. There is also a small trail nearby the cottages which adventurous folks can avail to explore the surroundings!

If you are looking for a proper OFFBEAT place to stay in Kalimpong, this could be your next destination. Pros The property is super clean, well maintained and has a magnificent view The food they served was top notch. Do try their alu paratha for breakfast Hospitality and amenities were great Cons The Approach road to this property is simply horrible. If you are looking to explore nearby places in the evening or late evening, this property is not for you.
