Monpakhi Homestay

We were touched by our stay at Monpakhi. Firstly, Mr. Tanmoy went out of the way to accommodate our request for rooms on very short notice. We then proceeded to the property which is beautiful and so well kept. The service staff there are exceptionally caring and kind. We felt like they took care of us like their own family. If you want a delightful base from where you can explore Shantiniketan, look no further.

We stayed here this Basanta Utsav, 22nd-24th March 2016 and it was quite an good experience. The homestay is near to the University, so you can walk down whenever you want to. There are 5 rooms, out of which 2 rooms have attached washrooms, 2 AC rooms. Rooms were clean, there was peace all around. It is well maintained by a local family (caretaker). Food served was as you get in your homes, preparations were typically bengali menu, not much rich yet very tasty. There is a small lawn and beautiful garden. The owners were quite good and friendly, every confirmation was given over phone & email. This poush mela, we visited Shantiniketan, dates - 25th and 26th december. We were a family of 4 people. The house is 2 storied and the upper floor has 2 rooms with a terrace and ground one has 3 rooms with 2 having a connect to verandah. We took 2 rooms in the ground floor. These were booked much before as we all know about the rush that happens during this time. The owner was very cordial and we got assurance from him. We were unsure about what this place could offer as this place had very low visibility in internet as well as tourists. However we were amazed with the maintenance and hospitality. A well maintained lawn with lots of flowers is there. You will be attended by a sweet santhali couple who are the keepers of the house. For any assistance they are always at your help. Location - Simantapally(posh locality), Shantiniketan, landmark - Nanda hostel. Poush mela math is 20 minutes walk. Fooding - On demand the caretaker and his wife will cook homely food(separate charge). Car parking available. ||They charged us Rs.3000 per day per room, it is a bit high but keeping in mind poush mela is a rush time, all the hotels go in package mode. ||It was a nice and pleasant stay, we will cherish it for long.||Hope to visit again.

Very well maintained. A quiet, nice, serene place to mentally rejuvinate. Homely atmosphere. Simple yet a feeling like home. Having all facilities. AC, Hot water etc... The owners ensure a home away from home feeling.

This is an amazing property. felt like home and the food was top class especially the desi chicken curry. Minu and her husband are fabulous and took extreme care of our family. It was a fabulous experience and we plan to go there again

I have selected Monpakhi homestay for their location. It situated near Simantapalli, near Santiniketan Nursery. Rooms are clean, environment is peaceful, foods are available, garden view also available. A/c and Non A/c rooms are available at reasonable price. They can arrange famous baul song. Really appreciate for their great service.

It's not a hifi place in terms of amenities. Where it makes a stark difference is the level of hospitality. Truly amazed and touched!
