Disappointing Experience at Sarovar Portico, Katra I recently stayed at Sarovar Portico, Katra, for two nights, expecting a high standard of service given the reputation of this renowned hotel chain. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory due to several issues. Firstly, despite having a well-equipped bathroom, there was no soap in the soap dispenser. Even after requesting the staff to refill it on the very first day, the request was ignored, which was quite disappointing. The Smart TV in the room lacked proper Wi-Fi settings, rendering it practically useless. The breakfast options were very limited, and whatever was available lacked taste. The second morning was particularly frustrating as there was no hot water in the bathroom. Upon inquiring with the reception, I was told that the water consumption had been unusually high that day and that the boiler would take another 30 minutes to heat up. However, even after an hour, there was no hot water, and I was forced to take a cold shower on a chilly December morning. To top it all, as I was checking out, the manager at the reception asked me to provide positive feedback immediately using the phone number associated with my booking. I refused, as I believe feedback should reflect the actual experience and not be coerced. This was my first disappointing stay at any Sarovar Portico property, as I have never faced such issues before. I am sharing this feedback so that others do not have unrealistic expectations when booking this property and so that the management takes steps to maintain the minimum standards that one expects from a brand like Sarovar Portico.

We had a very good experience, well behaved courteous staff. We stayed here for 2 nights and had our breakfast and dinner at hotel itself. Entire team is very humble right from reception to restaurant manager and all. Especially restaurant manager Rajveer was very helpful and suggested a good authentic dishes to try. Have visited other Sarovar portico hotels but here at katra it’s a great experience. Definitely will opt this hotel again if we visit to katra.

We stayed at Sarovar Portico Katra during our recent visit to Katra. Our overall experience was average. Right from check in to rooms to service and food quality. The hotel is just average. They need to improve their service and food quality. Also staff has to be more hospitable. Shall not be staying here for next time. Not recommended 👎

This was or fourth stay in a Sarovar Portico property. Nice overall experience. Right from reception, room service to restaurant staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant staff was very good. Some of the items which were really good were North Indian food especially dal makkhani, paneer delicacies and not to mention delicious pakoras. South Indian like Dosa require a bit of more authenticity. Same for Chinese. On the day of check out Manger was kind enough to give us an extended check out. Further due to visit of PM Modi many roads were blocked and taxis / Autos were mostly off road due to security. However, duty manger ensured that we reached station on time for our train. Overall a very satisfying experience

Highly recommended to friends and family! Pick up & Drop : This hotel provides free drop service to Railway station, bus stand and Helipad and pick up from Banganga which is very good for folks who don't know much about the city Location: Prime location, On the way to Helipad Car Parking: Ample car parking space Rooms: Clean and comfortable. Toilets are hygienic with 24-hour hot water supply. Food: Must-try Rajma curry. The 24-hour restaurant offers quick service and a fantastic breakfast menu. South Indian food, including Masala Dosa, Idli, and Uttapam, is excellent Staff: Mr. Prahlad ji, the General Manager, is a courteous and helpful individual, always ready to assist. Even though I didn't know he was the GM, I contacted him numerous times with questions during our first visit to the Mata Rani Temple. The room service and restaurant staff are polite, efficient, and eager to serve. Their dedication to serving Mata Rani's devotees is evident. Highly recommended! 👍👍

Review for Vaishnodevi Sarovar Portico, Katra I recently stayed at the Vaishnodevi Sarovar Portico in Katra, and it was an excellent experience overall. The hotel has a convenient location, being fairly close to the starting point of the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to the Ban Ganga check post, which is a huge plus for pilgrims. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with modern decor that adds to the comfort. Amenities like a tea/coffee maker, comfortable bedding, and well-maintained bathrooms make the stay comfortable and relaxing. The view from some rooms, overlooking the surrounding hills, is lovely and calming. The staff was courteous, efficient, and always ready to assist with any requests. They also provided useful information about the yatra, which made the experience smoother. The in-house restaurant served a good variety of vegetarian dishes. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering a range of options that cater to different tastes. One of the highlights is the serene ambiance of the hotel. After a day of travel and the pilgrimage, returning to the quiet, comfortable atmosphere was a relief. The hotel also has a small spa, which is great for unwinding after the yatra. Overall, Vaishnodevi Sarovar Portico in Katra offers a balanced combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service, making it a perfect base for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi. Highly recommended!

Well located hotel, with fairly decent rooms (details below). Located a few kilometres from the railway station, the hotel provided pickup. Since we were visiting in connection with the Vaishnodevi trip, the pickup and drop services to and from the V route was also smooth and uneventful, with a comfortable hotel-branded Innova, and a pleasant driving partner. Restaurant offers outstanding vegetarian cuisine, with the service in the restaurant also being very attentive, helpful and friendly! The rooms per se, room numbers 101 & 102 specifically, left much to be desired. Both rooms had no windows, and no views. While bedsheets and bathrooms were 'white and clean', the walls had flaky paint, and since the individual air-conditioning was switched on only after we entered the room, the room felt musty on entering. Room phone was not working, floor and corners dusty, bathroom did not have any clothes hooks. The overall experience from the rooms perspective was very underwhelming, including a very tepid reception team. Given that the hotel is otherwise well located, from the brand management perspective, such rooms should not be given out.
