Shri Durga Ji Palace Vaishno Devi Main Bazaar Katra

Stayed there for one day. Courteous and welcoming staff. Great location in case you want to stay near Railway Station. Geysers and AC working great. Comfortable and clean beds. Provides early check in and pick up/drop which I liked the most. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately experience is not so good for our 12 people due to following reasons. 1. Cleaning staff is very arrogant and misbehaved to ladies and kids. Other staff is so so and not immediately cooperative for any room service. 2. Only one charging points for mobile in any room. If you ask the staff they ask us to use AC points and AC points already showing Spark and not working. So indirectly NO. 3. Cable TV running on multi plug and that is also not working in other room properly. 4. Food is okay and served in mess like steel plates which dont give you feeling like other hotel. 5. For basic refreshments like tea, coffee even any snacks chatani they straight forward say no and no any complementary services. 6. Geser water takes 20 min. to make it hot. 7. Rooms don't feel neet and clean and no ventilation except front side rooms. Apart from this overall experience in Katara about auto, cab is horrible. It seems such tourist places only one agenda loot customer's as much as high charges no courtesy, politeness from local people. There is lot of scope for government and Maa Vaishno devi shrine trust to provide free transport facility to devotees who Visiting vaishno Devi like tirupati.

Pros It's hardly 150 metres from railway station. About 1 km from katra market. Well connected with enough auto rickshaw for hire Hotel provides van service for banganga and helipad. While they don't promise it as free service, they did not charge me for it which was an extremely nice gesture. The hotel is comfortable for family at there were many families starting and gives your sense of safety to leave behind your items in your room when you go to visit the shrine Limited parking available Staff is good. Not refined but still good for your needs. They will meet your requirement politely. Cons Room is barely average. It does have working airconditioner and water geyser. Just two working plug points wherein one is used for television. Hence charging multiple gadgets like mobile and phone was an issue. There was no garbage din or basket. Room was not worth more than Rs 1200-1500 but since it was a long weekend, was charged 2200 inclusive of taxes. Parking area is open and dusty. Overall Decent place in case of want a economical place to freshen up before and after the mata visit

It's nice to be at hotel durga residency as it's locatetwd 10minwalk to katra railway station and rooms are spacious but things that I don't like is food they offer, i will suggest to go for outside restaurants and dhaba which are near to durga reaidency their taste and quality are way better. Second is their housekeeping staff, thay don 't even bothered to ask to change your bed covers or clean your room untill you ask them. Aoverall it's an average hotel with good location.

Located in Katra, it is quite a comfortable place to stay. However I found that it is overpriced. There were hardly any pilgrims and the charges were exorbitant for a few hours of sleep and a bath. The rooms are spacious and not water is available. The location is great too, quite close to the railway station and not very far from the bus stand.

Loved this place as the service is best. This hotel provides both AC and NON-AC rooms with best hospitality. They provide 24/7 room service. And the food they provide is also much more tastier than any other restaurants over there. They also provide room heaters is there is too much cold. The view from the windows is also best at first sight.

Stayed there for a night only, booked as we reached Infront of it. It's in front of katra railway station. They provide you a free pick & drop to the spot from where Yatra starts. Overall decent hotel. Liked entrance and ambience. Having scenic view. You can see many helicopters taking off from your balcony. Friendly staff. Free WiFi.
