Hotel Sahara

Excellent,superb, nice might be the few words to describe the hotel. Staying here is like "staying at home - a home away from home". Foods served are not only delicious but also very healthy. The owner Mr Samar Chakraborty sir is an thoroughly gentleman . Staffs are also very nice. We wish to visit there and them again. Thank you all form the core of heart!

I recently stayed at Hotel Sahara and had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere, making it the perfect choice. The rooms are clean, comfortable. and well-maintained. Despite being a small hotel, the attention to detail in the decor and amenities is impressive. The beds are comfortable.The staff at is incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall Hotel Sahara provides excellent value for money. 👍🏼

Rooms were too small which were provided though I was shown bigger rooms before booking. Actually it has three floors and three rooms on each floor are bigger in size. However these are reserved for tour operators where they allow 4-5 people in one room. Food was good, however, you have no view from any of the room but is more like a lodge where you go there only to sleep… electricity is also a big minus as they don’t have power backup and at times you think owner has purposely disconnected the power when you are in hotel mostly during morning and night times. However hot water is not an issue they have a separate boilers. Though it’s near to Dal lake it’s towards the end where you will find everything filthy and not recommended. But Kashmiri’s usually do not value their visitors and tries to seek maximum benefit out of you and this hotel owner and manager are one of them. I recommend not to short list this property.

This hotel is just OK. I was lucky to get room on first floor as there was no lift. No electric kettle or electric blankets. I travelled with kid and kettle was a big issue. This hotel is mainly for packaged tour operators. Simply avoid.

Has to be my worst experience ever in a Hotel. They have no generator backups so you'll find yourself in sweat with no fans. Their wifi was not working for the four days that i stayed there. Parking is a mess, they have no space. The restaurant is full of flies and they don't care two bits about the situation. The owner is totally indifferent to his customers. Repeated complaints to no avail.

If you are looking for a budget friendly and an hygienic hotel for your stay , LOOK NO FURTHER ! We visited Hotel Sahara in 2023 and recently in May 2024 . The hotel was renovated , clean , the food was amazing and the best part is , it’s just WALKING DISTANCE FROM DAL LAKE , so easier to see that serene sunrise and sunset with the view of the Majestic Dal . The owner and managers are very sweet and their hospitality is top notch . I would 100% visit hotel Sahara again and again .

Stayed at Hotel Sahara for one night at Srinagar. It is a 10 min walk from Daal lake near Daal Gate. Specious room, helpful staff and good buffet. They arrange local transport for sight seeing. It is a four storied hotel without a lift.

This hotel doesn't have lift as if u get a a room on third floor , Secondly third floor rooms are little bigger than first floor rooms. If you come here in hot season of summer then u r toast with heat as they don't have Air-conditioning in any of the rooms . The parking facility for large group is not recommended as they have only one car parking in their premises . Thirdly remember when we were in college time the hostel gate closes at night. Same rule applied here for everyone they lock the premises door at 23.00 pm everyday u can't go outside if u wanna drive for a breeze . I traveled so many countries in this world but never seen a hotel with this mindset of locking doors . I am here for two days , thru a friends friend I booked this place 2600/ per night but it it's not worth 2600 per day in june. When the climate is very hot and u sweat always even when u sleep and feel claustrophobic. Note * Never book this hotel with an agent here in srinagar . There are many options to seek in agoda or yatra .Com. Do it yourself all bookings . Don't trust agents they will manipulate you with payments given for this property and u will be stuck here like we . I had one bitter experience in this hotel 🏨. I don't want you guys spoil your holiday staying here for a min in this hotel . According to me the room rent should be 1200-1500 as it's a fan room . Many places near by is good apart from this .
