Omar Khayam HouseBoat Retreat

Had the most horrible experience in this houseboat, booked through @MakeMyTrip which was a prepaid booking, while checking in the person present there agreed that our booking is there yet while checking out they denied any tie up with MakeMyTrip and asked us to pay for the rooms again. As it was a houseboat and we had no other option but to take their shikara to come back to land we had to pay them. Even not getting any help from MakeMyTrip after 20 days of raising this issue. Be aware of this place the person who take cares of this boat looks aged and he behaves nice before showing true colors at the end.

It was a dreamy stay. The rooms were clean, spacious and amazing. The owner was very kind hearted as he arranged lunch for us. It was the best experience I ever had. I think everyone should go ahead for such an amazing property if want to spent a night in a houseboat. The view was amazing though

Just WOW! We are Stayed on 26th February 2024. We Booked 2 Rooms. I Searched Lots of Houseboats on Internet for Booking but Not Found a Good One, Mr. Sameer (Owner of Hotel Crescent, Srinagar) Suggested this Houseboat for us. And we Glad to Choose this Houseboat. Has Very Beautiful Stunning Views. Best Service they Provided. Owner is Very Friendly and Helpful. Front and Side Space/Area was Amazing, You can also do Breakfast, Dinner on that Space. Love that Location. Must Spare your Time with Beautiful Scenic Views. Provided Free Pickup and Drop Facility via Shikara if You take Shikara Ride along in Package. Best Shikara Ride Ever. Shikara Owner Mr. Altaf is Very Friendly and Polite. Best Houseboat for Photography Lovers. Rooms are Big Enough for Couple. I 100% Recommed this Luxurious Houseboat for Stay.

The house boat is very beautiful. We were 5 in numbers . Rooms are very spacious and beautiful. Room service is also fine and very cordial. I wish you will experience the same in this hb.

Amazing terrace overlooking the river. The inside of the house are very authentic and vintage. The bathroom was basic and modest.

If you are planning to visit Srinagar, you must experience the stay at houseboat. The Omar Khayam is a wonderful houseboat. Although the view outside is not excellent, but the stay experience is wonderful. Dining area, room, washroom everything is perfect for a family stay.

We stayed in one of the most stylish houseboat on Dal Lake. The owner had such a good taste in house design 🥲. He told us his houseboat is more than 40 years old now. All the furnitures drives us a little crazy because of their ages and also their beauty too. I regreted not taking photos inside the house. We did not have so much time here. Maybe next time when I come back, I will stay longer and enjoy life on Dal lake more than this time.|Please help me to send our thank to the owners who took care of us from we first shown up until we left at Srinagar airport.

Houseboat Omar Khayam: very nice family run property in the Dal lake, neat and clean, well decorated & maintained spacious rooms, foods are really tasty, all the members of the family are very cooperative and helpful. They have a small garden with the boat as well. And last but not the least, the patio: we spent almost our day just sitting here. I wish all the very best for Omar & family for the upcoming days.
