Young persian palace

We stayed in Royal Heritage Houseboat for 2 nights in the last week of May, 2024.|From Ghat 14 of Dal lake, boat took 15 minutes to reach the houseboat.Upon arrival ww were served very good Kahwa, the local tea of Kashmir. Hospitality was extremely satisfactory and the Shafi owners ensured we got the best veg food of our taste without garlic. We were given 2 rooms of their 7 room houseboat. Rooms were spacious enough. Bathroom was of decent size with bathtub. Overall cleanliness was excellent. Houseboat chef and helpers were friendly.Also, we enjoyed the shikara ride and thanks to Mr. Shafi, we did shopping at the houseboat itself as the shoppers arrived at the houseboat at night and the items were reasonably priced. If we visit Kashmir in future, we will definitely consider staying in Royal Heritage Houseboat.

Highly not recommended to stay in winter. If not for the service, i would have rated this 1 star. The room gas heater turns on only from 7pm-12midnight. In winter, on the lake, temperatures dip to -3 and we had to sleep in freezing temperatures. Not sure why room heater cant be until next day AM. However, The meals we had here were amazing. One of the staff is friendly and the other brother was less so.

This was an unplanned addition to our kashmir tour but turned out one of the highlights. I did a lots of study on selecting a house boat. Thanks to some bloggers and friends who suggested this place. Shalimar palace is under the unit of Royal Heritage house boat's,  please don't get confused. Royal heritage group has several house boat's next to each other with different names Shalimar palace is a very special place and we will recommend this unreservedly. |The welcome from the host set the tone from this oasis of tranquillity and charm. The character of the old house boat is retained and you can feel the history of the property which has been in the same family since their grandparents started. The experience is more akin to being an honored house guest rather then a hotel stay. The grounds and separate clearing areas feels like stepping back in time and axude a relaxed charm and elegance. The breakfast was simple but wonderful with the chef preparing heavenly aloo parathas and  masala omlate. |There is a refreshing simplicity about everything here- the simple things done very very well- which adds to the intimate feeling, relaxing and very special. An hour spent on the roof top terrace looking out over the Dal lake and watching the beautiful birds and ducks dancing around the lake brought our all too short visit to this wonderful place to an end. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer. We got a chance to meet the owners daughter, had a long chat which was an unexpected treat.|Special thanks to Mr Shakeel ( care taker, manager)  He is a Dimond [ perhaps a tiny bit heavier then the sparkler in the royal crown. |Tips |If you love alcohol, buy it before reaching Kashmir. It's not easily available. |Don't miss barbeque starters which is avaliable in shikaras. If you are a vegetarian then mushroom tikka and for non vegetarians fish tikka and chicken kababs. |In floating market bargaining is required. |Opposite ghat no 2 there is Stream restaurant don't miss their delicious delicacies. |Taxi's are easily available opposite ghat no 14.||

It’s a wonderful world out there ! The time is still the breeze is cool and the scenery is magical .||The food coupled with hospitality is unparalleled! Comfort and decor of the Royal houseboat was perfect! ||Would go time and again to the same houseboat! Mr Shafi the owner looked after us like family! Thank you so very much for a wonderful time spent! We were vegetarian and the Kashmiri meal that was served passed all our expectations! Delicious and awesome! ||Many many thanks!

I stayed for 3 nights inthe Young Persian Hostel. It is a houseboat in an amzing location, the middle of the Dal Lake in Srinagar. The food was very tasty and the staff very helpful, they give me some tips about Srinagar and Kashmir region. I recommend you to stayin this place.

The Royal Heritage Houseboats very clean, nice view and they have excellent services. The room so comfortable, breakfast so good. I highly recommendation and will stay here again. Thank you and see you next time

Royal palace house bourt and kashmeer tour very awesome thanks to umar bhai and shakeel bhai very awesome house court and umar bhai package. Shikaar ride. , House court like we are roaming in a Jannat

Awesome hospitality the services and the food. Rooms were clean with beautiful view. Breakfast buffet was so good and delicious. And friendly staff... I will come back to this houseboat again. See you
