This review is for the restaurant. The food is good but not extraordinary. Just regular food but pricey and there’s extra 18% tax as it’s attached to a hotel. Not worth the price at all, we wouldn’t have gone if we knew earlier it was part of the hotel and avoid paying the extra tax.

We came here as a family in which there were 4 generations and absolutely loved the place. It's location is great and mostly everything is close by. The staff was very helpful and caring too

Stayed in Malabar House for weekend .and so far best place I have stayed .It's a 270 years old property ..true to its relais and chatuex accredition the property really upholds the reputation for excellent hospitality . The rooms and decor are world class with old heritage look.. Want to specially thank the wonderful professionalism and hospitality of the staff .. Had a few requirements like early check in 4 hrs before the time , early check out , early breakfast and Kerala saree draping for a function and have to stay the staff was too polite and wonderful to oblige to all. Infact the restaurant manager woke up early and arranged the breakfast and same for the staff who woke up early morning for saree draping ...... Excellent food quality ...perfect place for a weekend getaway...would highly recommend them for anyone travelling to fort kochi for a great experience ..... Kudos to the management for maintaining such a high luxurious place with all the heritage elements kept intact ....

Nice hotel and good service but for the price, expected more ambience for a historical building. There was a pool available but it was directly behind the reception, which made it feel more like a water feature. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly but the morning breakfast service was a bit slow. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was good but again, the service was a bit slow. However overall we did enjoy our time there.

Had gone for dinner tonight. The food was good but the service was atrocious . Ordered beer but the waiter says beer glass not available and just brought the bottle .When my husband refused the same , the beer glass was brought after some time! Half the items in beer and wine list were unavailable !Asked for a plate when the salad was served which was brought very reluctantly ! At the end of the meal when we asked for finger bowls was told they don’t have them! When charging 5 star prices please ensure that service is also 5 star level

We went to the wine bar at this hotel. However we weren’t impressed. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and hummus. We sat on the terrace with our drinks but we were alone and very much forgotten about. We thought we’d have a second drink but there were no staff around to serve us. We then tried to pay initially by going down stairs to the restaurant. We were then told to go back upstairs which we did but there was still no one around, so we went back downstairs. They wanted to charge us for the hummus we didn’t get. Then they charged us more for our wine than the price on the menu. They would not budge on charging us more than the price on the menu. The explanation was that the software on the tills had been upgraded so the higher price was the price! All in all a very disappointing experience.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay at The Malabar House Heritage Hotel earlier this month. We were wonderfully welcomed by Anne Marie who gave us exceptional service. Anne Marie is a credit to Malabar House. We highly recommend this Hotel which has incredible history and depth. The staff, the food, the rooms are all of a high standard. Thank you for a fabulous stay and we hope to return again in the future.
