Elphinstone Residency

My daughter and myself stayed 4 nights here and would defiantly stay again. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the main shopping and markets. Breakfast was so delicious and the owner/manager/cook made my favourite breakfast on our last day there knowing how much I loved it. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean with both air conditioning and fan. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

A fine place to lay back and enjoy the beauty of fort Kochi. Rooms are simple with a tradional charm to them. Elphinstone has got the oceanos restaurant right next to it which offers fresh sea food delicacies. Menu has got a strong Portugese influence to it and grilled chicken is a must try. Couple with the rooms and amazing food they offer friendly support staff and services. All in all it's an excellent choice to stay of you have good money to spend

Didn't like the rooms, very stuffy, lots of mosquitoes and staff is polite but not very experienced. Got into our room to take the batteries of our ac remote when we were out. That was really creepy. Also the room rent was 1200 but they charged us 3900 which was steep and didn't get the logic.

Despite having made two separate reservations for two separate rooms, we were told on arrival that there was only one room out of the two that we had booked available. ||Moreover, the receptionist/manager also justified the mix up by saying I had not 'called' them to confirm I was coming - so the onus apparently lay on me. Might I also add that nowhere in the booking confirmation, or emails sent back and forth was there any mention of me calling to confirm - like most professionally run organisations, I assumed if I had made the booking, received the confirmation, surely then was confirmed! ||Linen looked soiled and unwashed, the rooms were poorly maintained and so were the bathrooms. I guess for the price you pay, you cannot expect any luxuries, but surely hygiene and cleanliness is a basic expectation from any hotel/ BnB. ||Overall, I fail to understand it's high rating. For the options in the price range available in the area, this is certainly not the best one.

We stayed here in February and it was a super pleasant stay. We chose the cottages outside facing the garden- they are newly construed and well maintained . We were welcomed by a Majestic looking peacock who seemed least bothered by the presence of lesser mortals . ||||They have a restaurant right outside which serves fabulous food and a small cafeteria where you get all day breakfast and refreshments.

Was really bad. The rooms are of poor quality. The breakfast provided is bad. The staff are quite helpful but the property is not in good condition. We had insects in our bathroom. In all an unpleasant experience.

The overall stay was very comfortable and our host "John" was very warm. We had a good overall experience. All the touristy places were close by. The place also had a backyard lawn where you can chill and sit.

Affordable, clean, good ambience. Let down by no parking facility. The a/c wasn't working in my room,so we had to switch rooms. Very polite staff,and management
