We’re a family of 3 ~ stayed at the Brunton Boatyard for 2 nights. The theme of the place is the Colonial era. The place is tastefully elegant and gives you that feel of Vintage Royalty. Fort Kochi has several buildings that go back 300 years. The rooms are spacious, neat and tidy ~ all in wood, old styled switches, fans, lampshades, doors, windows and bathroom fittings ….. everything vintage. The courtyard, the reception, the artifacts all transport you a 100 years back.||The staff - professional, well trained, friendly yet not in-your-face. I loved the food served at breakfast and dinner. The mallu food tasted authentic. One bite and you know the quality of the chef. I loved the food and the culinary experience.||I took a morning walk with the guide and I got a bit of history associated with the buildings, the streets and Loafer’s corner. During the day we took an auto ride to Jew town.||The next day I spent the morning cycling around Fort Kochi. Had breakfast and left to the next CGH property - The Coconut lagoon, Kumaragom - Read my post to know more.||While the property is fabulous, the surroundings are not so great - not that it diminishes or affects your experience.||Overall - we left feeling Happy. Our experience of living the vintage lifestyle and experiencing a part of history will remain ever engrained in our memories. A must visit place. Stay for 2 days … not more.

I had a very peaceful stay at Brunton and everyone I met was very kind and helpful. My only complaint is that the outings and activities (such as walking tour, high tea, boat ride) were not fully explained and it would have been nice to have them written down in the room or given at reception. A few people I especially enjoyed were Akshay the bartender out on the deck, Jasmine at the front desk and Saneesh my tuktuk driver. Thank you so much for making my stay extra warm!

We stayed in Brunton Boatyard mid-August and had a wonderful time. It is hotel of period charm with all modern facilities. Rooms were spacious with wonderful view of the bay. The box containing different varieties of tea in the room and facility to make them was a unique personal touch. Having morning cup of tea in the balcony, watching the boats go past - a memory we would cherish for ever. Choice of breakfast individually made and served as well the ambiance and cuisine in the restaurant for dinner deserves praise. We also noted hotel's caring approach for environment and appreciated it. Staff were very friendly cordial and attentive . A big thank you to Mr Tony Jacob for arranging the hotel. Overall a five-star experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting Kochi.

This place is really unique, the style is really cured and non standardized, our rooms were enormous, very clean, with a great wide bed (we would fit in with our two sons!), welcoming wine and other treats. The swimming pool was safe and clean, just a side of the see. In the afternoon they even serve high tea with cookies, sandwiches and fresh juices! Absolutely heaven. Food at the restaurants is very good, easily digestible (which is a good thing for tourists traveling!) and various. The people that work here are all so kind and at your service for any reason. I highly recommend it to all of you!

The Brunton Boatyard is a stunning property that perfectly encapsulates the serene and opulent charm of old Kerala. The atmosphere is tranquil, and the immaculate design elements transport you to a bygone era of understated elegance. The rooms and wooden furniture beautifully blend the timeless appeal of traditional Kerala with the sleekness of modern contemporary architecture. The on-site Armory Restaurant offers a solid dinner menu, with tastefully minimal hardwood furniture and the option for outdoor seating. Their breakfast menu is fantastic, featuring the chef’s special traditional Kerala breakfast—a true highlight of our stay. Our only wish was for the restaurant to keep the volume of its music lower during crowded times to maintain the peaceful ambiance.

We had a good stay at Brunton Boatyard, but there are a few things to be aware of. Positives: - Very easy transport from airport to the hotel. Check in was also very smooth. - Room (Deluxe Suite, no balcony) was large and had a nice living area. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms well sized with nice toiletries. - Breakfast was good, no buffet but they serve as much food as you want. - We had a great tuk tuk tour. If you have the choice, ask for Sajad. He was a very good guide and his English was great. He took us to an excellent spice market. - Shop was cute and the person running it was helpful. Things to be aware of: - The room was next to a very, very loud ferry terminal for locals to travel the canal. It was fine, but it starts at 6am and ends at 10pm. I'd recommend avoiding 201/202, and 301/302 when making your booking. - Service was well intentioned but was sometimes slightly lacking the full polish. We'd be given food with no cutlery, water glasses would be missing. Small things that really don't matter - but you do notice when you are paying for a hotel at this price point. - Food was ok. We had a mix of meals. The main thing though was that the food was safe and we felt comfortable eating everything on the menu. All in all, I would recommend the hotel if you are staying in Kochi but please ask for a room away from the ferry!

After traveling India for almost 3 weeks, we were in shock finally reaching this little beautiful corner Kochi. It feels like a beach, boat town that thrives off the water. Tons of outside influence shaping the shops/streets/colorfulness. And a perfect place to stay in the Brunton Boatyard! An old converted boat yard, now a unique hotel with absolute cleanliness and amazing food/views. You are a 2 minute walk to the Fishing Nets, which I highly recommend a sunrise trip to visit and watch Kochi wake up. It all starts and ends on the water!
