Chrissie's Hotel

Excellent communication and customer service from booking through to departure. We travelled as a couple but also saw that solo travellers were very well cared for by every member of staff at Chrissie’s. Home cooked food and lots of wildlife on the doorstep of your room. Well worth a two or more night stay as they can also organise jeep tours at great prices in a stress free way. The rooms may be a little basic for the price but they more than make up for that with the best customer service we have experienced so far in Kerala.

What a welcome from Adel, Anthony and the other staff. They made us feel so at home and even baked a birthday cake for my partner. The rooms were set in a beautiful jungle type environment. The food at the restaurant was high quality and there was a great travellers atmosphere!!!

Fantastic place to stay in Kumily! The staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. We wanted to check in one day earlier than planned and they were happy to allow it. The rooms are spacious and clean with a wonderful balcony. The place is surrounded by huge gardens with a variety of plants and trees, as a result of which, a number of birds and animals visit the place. From the balcony one can spot a large diversity of wildlife. The rooftop is amazing as well with a pool and sweeping views. There is a cafe which serves good food. The breakfast buffet is amazing as well. It is walking distance to the entrance of forests and other shops and restaurants.

This is the best place we stayed at in India! The service from the staff is outstanding and they were welcoming and helpful with organising activities and deal with payment to the Tigre trail in Periyar! The breakfast is amazing, fresh fruits, homemade bread and jams and so much other well cooked stuff! Yoga was really nice and the rooftop too!

The best hotel!! They treated us like princesses! It’s walking distance from everything (bus station, tiger reserve, shops). The rooms are in the jungle, surrounded by beautiful birds and monkeys, it’s amazing! In each room, there is a big terrace to enjoy your morning coffee/tea while looking at the nature. Also the restaurant is great, many options for dinner and breakfast (the waiter we had was so great). We did yoga class (enjoyed a lot!), Safari ride which was fun and enjoyed the swimming pool on the rooftop with the monkeys jumping around. Being the tiger reserve just there, I’m attaching the picture of prices of programs at the tiger reserve. We did the border hiking, It’s 16km, a bit challenging but we enjoyed so much. Between others, we could spot elephants, monkeys, deers and the landscape is breathtaking.

Words can‘t describe how much we loved being here. We‘ve been travelling for several weeks and this was without a doubt the most friendly place of our trip. Not only the owners but the whole staff are just heartwarming. They have a very honest and loving way about themselves that just made us feel like at home. The premises are beautiful. From the balcony you can see a lot of different animals, including two types of monkeys - so don‘t leave your stuff outside, the monkeys come really close and love „borrowing“ your personal belongings. They have a variety of foods, which are all homemade. Even the honey is made by the bees they have on their premises. The hotel is run by solar energy. There are many different activities to do that will help you experience Kumily and the Periyar National Park. Just ask the hotel team and they will advise you and help you to book different tours. Also they provide a taxi service which brought us safely to varkala (5hr drive), feel free to ask them. In the end the main thing was the positive, loving and honest energy that made us stay two nights longer than planned.

Our group of 10 family and friends stayed at Chrissie's Hotel for 3 nights in April. We all thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The staff, facilities, location, tours were all excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for you, so obliging and beautiful. We loved all the artwork in the rooms. Meals served at the restaurant were great. We enjoyed the wildlife frolicking in the trees around the hotel.

We Went here for breakfast, buffet style all you can eat, you can order different types of eggs fresh, best fruit we’ve had and a good selection, amazing value 250INR, great masala tea, staff were lovely and accommodating to any requests we had
