KTDC Periyar House

I've never seen a government owned hotel so beautiful and well maintained. The fact that this hotel is located in the middle of a tiger reserve is itself a magical experience. We were lucky enough to witness bird, squirrels and porcupine as well. The morning vibe is beautiful. Monkeys come to your door and windows to search for food so you have to be careful. The rooms were amazing and very spacious and very clean. The staff was helpful. My only recommendation to the hotel is to decrease the price of buffet dinner. Although the restaurant manager was kind enough to provide us with individual dishes as most of us were not very hungry. Overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend others.

It’s a very nice property inside the Periyar National Park. Very nice staff. Nipunya and Binni made our check in process very smooth. If you book a KTDC property getting boat tickets is simple enough. The restaurant staff is also very polite and caring. We will definitely recommend it to our friends

Well designed and efficiently run establishment. The staff is good and service effective. They assist in keeping the monkeys away which is a permanent menace. Food is well made and service efficient. Rooms are well designed and toilets well maintained. Linen is clean as well as nicknacks in the toilet. Must stay for a visit to the tiger reserve. The boat ride as an adventure and one has to be lucky. Book on line.

Very fine place. Come here with pre planned boat safari at 3.30 PM. At night and early in the morning you can have a wonderful experience to watch wild life. Staff cooperative and generous Very very nice play to stay here.

KTDC Periyar House offers an unforgettable experience! One of the best perks is getting confirmed boating tickets without prior booking, making it so convenient. The thrill of spotting elephants, porcupines, and sambar deer in their natural habitat was incredible. The hospitality and room service were top-notch, ensuring a comfortable stay. The on-site restaurant served excellent meals, adding to the overall charm. I highly recommend staying for at least two days to truly enjoy everything this place has to offer!

I really enjoyed the stay in KTDC periyar house. The atmosphere was very cool , calm and silent. All the staff showed good hospitality and always had a pleasant smile on their face. They arranged tickets for the boat trip also, so that we escaped from the long queue for tickets. We had lunch and dinner. Everything was hot and freshly cooked even my kid who always preferred low spice, enjoyed it. At night the guard called us to see the porcupine.Special thanks to that officer who cared very specially for all guests. A really amazing experience to stay inside the forest with beautiful music of insects and birds. Kids too can enjoy playing in their well maintained kids park.

Group of friends who came for trekking. Stayed for 2 days Good rooms n excellent service n polite staff. Restaurant food was very nice too! Suggestion to have some local kerala cuisine also, even some small snacks .
