★★★Once we managed to sort out checking-in we had a great stay at Hotel Oliver. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance of everything that Colaba has to offer. This is a great part of the city to stay in and a lot of fun. It is a bit touristy but not overly so and a good introduction to India.||||The rooms are on par with other Mumbai hotels which means the cleanliness is not always great (main issue here is a bit of mildew but nothing serious), the room is not serviced during the stay, and the building is a bit older (with all the problems this brings!) The hotel has gone a long way to making up for some of the normal issues in Mumbai and the rooms have water pressure pumps and hot water heaters so that supply is reliable.||||I think all of the rooms are on the ground floor (ours was) and not all have windows. Ours had a private bathroom which again is not always the case. The street is fairly quiet at night and the location seemed to be safe.||||Staff were good during the check-in debacle and polite and friendly during the stay. They are very insistent about leaving passports with them during the stay - I resisted and this caused a bit of confusion.||||Breakfast is again like most Mumbai hotels - a little odd so don't expect what you'd get in most other cities! Usually just an "omelette" (it's not really like an omelette but it is edible and enough to start the day) and some bread and instant coffee.||||Check-in issues: Booked and paid with Expedia but when we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking. The staff at the hotel were very helpful in trying to sort out the issue, made a number of phone calls to Expedia to try to get the booking confirmation and allowed me to call Expedia's Customer support using their phone. Whilst I was on the phone to customer support Expedia sent an email cancelling my booking. I had to pay the hotel direct and wait for a refund from Expedia. Staff said this happens all the time with Expedia and encouraged me to book direct next time.

★All the hotel staff are non cooperative nor they are liable . we have a got a big lesson from them regarding having the trust with someone .||As they have asked for a day regarding my booking for room reqd for 7-10 days , as I have met them in the month of june & also told them that the same will be need after a month & paid the advance too. Since they have no time have a communication with me .||I request other guest too , that there is no shortage of hotels in the city Mumbai , but please be alert in having the realtion with them .as I have a very bad experience with them .||I also request the hotel staff to please be loyal to their customers as they are working in the city like Mumbai where all type of customers comes with several things .

★★★★★So, I decided to do a review for this hotel after I stayed there with two of my girlfriends and I must say, I am very surprised to read the negative reviews on here. We spent about 10 days in India going from New Delhi to Agra to Jaipur and back to New Delhi, to fly to Varanasi and from there we flew to Mumbai. I actually booked this room online through OYO Rooms in Colaba and at that time I didn't realize that OYO rooms is a company that is in business with hotels all over India, reserving and renting out rooms at their own price. we were more than pleased with our room, the bed was big and comfortable, the room also had a daybed, a mini fridge, a microwave, one of those stove top range cooker (lol sorry don't know what it's called) but you can cook your own meals and also pots and dishes for you to use so this featured more than many of the places I stayed at. strong wifi reception, ac, TV (we didn't use it though) and the staff were extremely helpful and polite to us during our stay. we got a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival and when we were leaving they all walked us and helped us carry our luggages outside to the cab, bid us farewell and were exceptionally wonderful that I felt inclined on my part to write a review which is why I am surprised to see the negative ones. this hotel was wonderful, the location is prime, close to the ocean and the gateway of India, and the bazaar/market is just a block away along with great restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mumbai!! ||-Mystica Tun

★★★The location of this hotel is spot on! In the thick of things, but set back on a quiet leafy Road. The rooms have recently been renovated, however lacks finishing in some areas. The hotel was listed as 'oyo rooms colaba' on booking, which we got at 60‰discount. I'm not convinced that it is worth full-asking price, however considering prices in Mumbai, it's probably as good as you're going to get around this area. The room included a fridge, warm water shower, TV with local channels, which had a USB port, so we connected and watched our own series. All up, it was an ok stay in a prime location.

NillThough I did not stay here, two stars less is for the front desk guy who just made excuses not to accomodate us rather than facilitating. After all facilitation of guests is the one driving factor of hospitality industry. The booking was done in a jiffy and generated only one guest instead of three. Simple Mistake a customer can make any day. OYO CS ready to help, but not the Front desk guy of this hotel. Even the CS could not convince him to accomodate us.

NillI have to give this rating because of the following factors: 1. Small rooms with less or no windows. 2. Furniture is old and pieces come out of it. 3.if you are choosing one room for 3 people don't book it then, they will provide the bed used in hospitals. 4.leakage in the washroom, like in faucet. 5.every time you have to use washroom you have to call them,so that they can switch on the water connection. I will not recommend this for a family or even for a couple. Book it at your own risk.

★Booked it through Expedia on 9th Oct, chose the option PAY Later and got the confirmation with Booking id FOCK7916. We three along with one senior citizen 70+ had to participate in Mumbai Marathon 2016 which was a new place for us and chose this location based upon the BIB collection center location i.e Cuff Parade and Marathon starting point location i.e. Azad Maidan. But even then OYO didn't confirm the same and asked me to pay at least 30% as a booking amount. After talking to OYO customer care, he finally agreed to confirm the booking. But month's later on 7th Nov, they updated the room to some Apollo Guest House without informing me or getting any confirmation from me. Once again contacted the OYO customer care, they asked me to deposit the either entire amount or partial amount to keep the booking intact. So on their suggestion, I had paid the entire amount on 8th Nov and asked him to update the hotel to Oliver Hotel Colaba. I thought the matter is sorted down as I have paid the entire amount. In Dec end, I once again called the OYO customer care and confirmed my booking one more time to avoid any hassle at last hour and they verified and assured me that you have paid the full amount so you need to worry and no need to confirm again as your booking is confirmed. But to my surprise and shock, when I was about to fly from Chandigarh on 15th Jan(day of checkin) at 1:00 PM, they updated Hotel Booking to some other place, which was far away from the current place, without taking any affirmation from me either through phone or email. I called multiple times to OYO customer care executive but everyone was giving their own lame excuses and forwarding my call to escalation department who was not picking up my phone. It really frustrated me a lot but left with no other choice then to stay in third class hotel where linen, bed, couches, curtains were not up to the mark. I don't know whether this is the model that OYO guys are following to keep frustrating and harassing their customers to earn hard earned money. I'm not going to make any booking with OYO henceforth rest it's up to you.................................

NillPeople should know that not to book this... In budgeted rooms they don't have attached bathroom. Just imagine that you come out after bath and you see guests and reception staff all around. No toiletries kit available. No drinking water available. Even breakfast they brought from roadside stalls. Is this for what we pay them extra 150 for roadside breakfast???? Switches and regulator were also not working fully. Mirror was hidden inside the cupboard. Though we don't expect luxury in low price. Bt atleast we should get basics of hotels and rooms.... It's highly not recommend for couples and ladies.
