Hotel Laxmi Niwas

The hotal is in good location the room was clean and gate view from rooftop. Food was awesome home made food just like home. I recommended this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Laxmi Niwas. The hotel has rooms on the fort’s wall, with a great view over Jaisalmer. My room was small, but clean and with a silent fan. A couple of things to be careful about though: my room was advertised as double room, however I struggled to find the space to drop my one backpack (55l) travelling solo. The bed was almost square, in fact it would leave calves and feet out. I doubt couples travelling would fit into such a small room, there literally is no space for two backpacks or two people on the bed. One more thing to notice is that en-suite bathrooms have squat toilet. So no western toilets. Finally, and this is the reason I am giving four stars rather than five, a couple of things I didn’t like: although my booking.com reservation clearly stated that all services and goods taxes where included in the final price, the gentleman running the hotel insisted I paid it extra. When I then paid the extra tax, he had no change to give back and promised he was going to sort his debt out later. I never had my change. Not at all a big deal, but I do value transparency and these little things detracted from the experience. The gentleman owning the hotel seemed to be scared I was not going to pay, as he kept asking me daily, even more than once a day, when I was going to pay.

Amazing place with a very kind father and son staff. The rooms are basic but well appointed and modestly priced given the phenomenal location atop the walls of the fort. The balcony and roof offer killer views of the fort and the surrounding city. The owner is extremely kind and extraordinarily helpful. He, unlike many others, actually tried to help me save money rather than trying to dupe me into paying for unnecessary services. I also had one of my best sleeps in India in my quiet room above the noisy city below. I would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent location on fort giving very good city view and sunrise view. Hotel owner and his family is very cooperative. They helped us plan our tour and provided genuine advise.They helped us to arrange taxi, guide, desert tour. We had homely stay at hotel for three-days. Alhough rates during christmas were high, we had comfortable and very memorable stay with Vyas family. Never felt like staying in hotel. They treated us like their close guests.

Great stay in Jaisalmer... ||I had several choices, and I'm glad to decided to stay at this hotel. ||Padam Niwas greeted me with such wonderful service. ||Hospitality with honesty- indeed! ||New owner was very friendly and helpful. I booked a desert safari from him and it was so awesome experience. I recommend not to skip that! ||The staffs are all very nice and friendly.||Thanks for making my Jaisalmer/desert experience one I will never forget!||Hotels location is good, center of Jaisalmer and near to fort. ||The rooms were good and clean, price reasonable. Great value for money! ||Roof restaurant was nice place to enjoy of tasty food and chill with great company. ||I would definitely recommend this hotel! I had really nice stay :) ||Excellent for short or longer stays!
