Sonam Hotel

Visited this hotel in May'19 booked thru goibibo @₹1400/- for 24 hrs.Had a very horrible stay. Access to this hotel is very narrow lane and located near a big slaughter house.Room alloted was in basement and very damp. Bedsheets, quilts were also damp and smelly. Asked for replacement but there condition was no better. The entire basement floor of hotel stank. No carpet on floor, marble bathroom floor had chunks old Cement masonry plaster stuck to it. Staff had expressionless faces when all the problems were reported. Since it was evening when we arrived, somehow managed for a single night and checked out immediately very next morning and shifted to Hotel Dzong at MG Marg at same and had very pleasant stay.

The hotelier are so greedy. They will put you in lot of trouble regarding the booking from go ibibo. After booking the room, they called and said the booking is not confirmed, because they needed more money for the room. I had to converse with go ibibo , marking conference call with hotelier many times to sort out the issue The rooms are so dusty. Heater was not working. Not a good place to stay for a family. The location so hard to find, it's inside the market. There are valley view rooms. The other rooms opens to the meat market

It was gang trip in Gangtok, before going there we had booked this hotel as it was affordable. I want to point out some pros and cons about this hotel- Pros: 1. Budget Hotel, 2. Cooking facility available, 3. Location, 4. Staffs are cordial. Cons: 1. Some rooms are not fit for staying (damp bed), 2. Power back up(Generator/UPS) is not here, 3. Renovation needed.

Fraud Hotel . Don't book online... They are waiting for your money 🤑🤑 🤑🤑🤑... You loose your money....if you book online or pay directly to hotel.... When you reach there ...you know everything about this... There was no booking ... Now you pay and Book your room.... 🙂🙂 Other wise you go anywhere as you like... .. very much bad experience about this hotel .... Sorry this is not a hotel ..

Very bad and poor services provided by the staff, gyser not working, dirty bed sheets, dirty rooms, staff not listening us, not even send the tea to room, tasteless food with poor quality, staff giving excuse that they have another group of people they need to entertain so they can not provide services to us, staff person threatening us that if we will make bed sheet dirty they charged 500 for that, so overall very bad experience till now.
