Hotel Utpala (Premium), Gangtok

We stayed in this hotel in the month of Dec'24 last week. Pros - -Located in very close proximity to MG marg. -All restaurants and shopping areas are in walkable distance. -View from the room was good. Cons - -Not at all welcoming staffs. -All the staffs are grumpy always. -Bedsheets, Towels hardly looked clean. - Blankets were dusty that we started sneezing as soon as we started using it. - Room heater that was provided to us, made a terrible noise when we switched it on. It was really difficult to sleep for us by keeping it on. Most time we had to turn it off due it weird and loud noise. it was such a pathetic condition it should be scrapped instead they are still renting it for extra money. Not recommended to stay.

Hotel location is very near to MG Marg.landmark is opposite to Pantaloons. During our stay we're getting very good service along with good food also. Our room was quite spacious,neat and clean. The behaviour of the staffs are good to us.

Hotel Utpala is present just opposite the pantaloons in mg Marg gangtok. Pros: Near Mg marg. Breakfast is complimentary and good food quality. Wifi available. Please ask for mountain view room. Glimpse of kanchenjunga can be seen if lucky. Cons: Rooms are a bit shabby and the bathroom is not so clean and well maintained. Also many times the reception didn't pickup calls from the room extension.

I stayed here for 3days in last week. Rooms was neat and clean. Room service was excellent. Food Quality and Food Quantity both were sufficient. Overall great experience.

This is a good hotel in MG Marg. Their location and service were good. It would have been better if the bed covers and bathroom were a little cleaner.

It's an old hotel, rooms feel damp not very well maintained, service and staffs were good. At a very good location right on mg marg, if you want kanchanjangha view from your balcony at a reasonable price go for it.

Room service pathetic, Manager is rude and unmannered, restaurant food is expensive and rotten food served.Don’t come here ,there are many good hotels near MG marg

Excellent servicing and awesome food .the staff were well behaved and had good arrangements too.. Rooms were good too
