The Neelakanta

It's in a good location, on a sea beach. During my visit, I think there is some maintenance work going on which impacted whole hotel operations. Lift was stinking, dust at many places. Also the table on the balcony was broken, and the sofa in the room was not clean and very old.

On the whole we were rather disappointed. The hotel is located on the beach but it takes a bit of walking to get there. Also there is an awful stink near the reception area that was disgusting. The room was booked for three of us but the room had not been prepared for 3. We had to keep calling asking them to provide each extra item... I had to pay to personally buy a toilet brush for the hotel toilet! And service was slow and lax in the beginning till I started to scream and shout when things began to fall in place. Simple things like a box of tissue, mosquito repellant or a toilet brush were not provided even in the premium suites. The food was generally good and the breakfast very nice. The location is good. But my impression was there might be other hotels on the beach which might be cleaner and more comfortable for the same rates.

I have stayed at this property for 2 days ,the best hotel in the beach area. The swimming pool and other facilities are good . You will find a sea view from the balcony. The only drawback is there is a fish market at every hotel, so you will be a little bit uncomfortable if you are a vegetarian. Some operational issues are there like hot water.overall good place to stay at beach side. We had breakfast during our stay that was delicious ,staff is cooperative and helpful.overall I recommend to stay at this property for sea view and light house

We did not stay here although the rooms facing the eating area and sea looked amazing. The ambeience of the outside area and undercover area was good. It was very clean and airy. Lovely lighting and views across the sea as we were above street level. We have eaten here twice. The service was excellent and menu was good. Prices was also good. Good plentiful and fresh and very tasty. Prawns and biriyani was awesome..They played some good music also. Would definitely recommend and well worth the visit. Met a lovely manager who makes sure that everything is going right for guests. Sorry we forgot your name but we are the West Indian couple from England and you took time out to talk with us. All the best for your future. An amazing place

Worst experience ever..!! I was booked the hotel for 2 days. But i left the hotel without completing my stay and booked another hotel for 2nd day. Hotel rooms are too small, even not proper space for luggage also. Food related services are too slow. Even they don't have proper sandwich toaster. Food quality is not as per expectation. Even they dont have proper lift to go on 2nd floor. They are connected by walkway between 2 buildings, old and new. Old building dont have lift. So for 2nd floor, we have to go to 3rd floor on new building and then go to 2nd floor by using steps. Room service is also very slow, I asked for water bottel after half hour again i have to remind the same thing and then i get the water bottle, same experience for bath towel also.

All good. Rooms very clean, great sea view. Polite staff. Location great. No fridge in the rooms. Lift smells bad. Price on high side. All surrounding hotels have dripped price during off season . Neelakanta still has not dropped price.

Very rude staff, they are looting money by saying you made our towell dirty and asked for money while checkout time. We were three couples and stayed for three nights, but room service was horrible, dirty smell around there. Not recommend to anyone for stay.
