NillA Truly Unforgettable Experience: Our stay at SpiceTree was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the serene hills of Munnar, this luxurious resort offers an unparalleled experience with its exceptional personal attention and intimate setting. With only a limited number of exclusive suites and villas, we felt like we had our own private paradise. The quality of the cuisine was outstanding, with dishes crafted from fresh ingredients sourced directly from their own garden. The staff's availability and dedication to our comfort were remarkable. They were always ready to assist with a smile, making us feel truly pampered. One of the highlights of our mornings was the complimentary yoga class before breakfast, which set a perfect tone for the day. Our suite offered breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, adding to the overall beauty and tranquility of our stay. The management was not only present and visible but also incredibly attentive. He surprised us with an upgrade without us even asking. A word of caution for future guests: make sure to ask the hotel for detailed directions for the final stretch of the road through the forest. It can be a bit tricky as it is an off-road track.

★★★★★A fabulous hotel. Firstly, the location is stunning. And the staff are amazing! Big thank you to the restaurant team, who were the best we had in Kerala, plus the trek leader, the spa and the chef- and all the people behind the scenes making it work.||As well as being a beautiful small hotel in a great location, there are lots of activities included, which completely enhance the experience.|There is tea tasting with snacks every afternoon, then an evening trek for an hour with the guide.|We also did the included two hour morning trek through the cardamom plantations- wow! This was one of the highlights of our holiday. But it is steep and it is warm, so you will need a level of fitness to do this one. There was just us with the guide and it was fantastic (they do provide bamboo waking poles which are a must!)||We also took part in the complementary cookery class at lunch, amazing thing to do! The chef made several dishes, with us stirring a few things! But explained everything and about keralan food. The plus side is you then get to eat it! Again, there was only us, and the staff set us up a private little table on a veranda…||We also used the spa and this was excellent. We had both reflexology and relaxing massages with a steam bath. From a westerners point of view be prepared to leave some dignity behind as you will wear paper pants and be massaged pretty much everywhere!||We spent a happy few hours sitting on our balcony watching the birds and listening to the sounds, whilst looking over the valley.||The food in the restaurant is excellent.||The hotel is spread out on several levels, so you do need to go up and down steps to get anywhere.||Thank you team Spice Tree!

NillWe loved this hotel! Sad to leave after two nights. The service was excellent. The location, beautiful. They offer many things, including cooking classes, a beautiful hike up the hill behind the hotel, a guided hike down to the cardamom farm in the valley below and tea tasting. All part of your room price. The food is also great. Breakfast on the patio looking over the valley is a forever memory

★★★★★We were at the Spice Tree for three nights. A hotel beautifully set overlooking the Bison valley. We were warmly greeted and shown around by Rateesh the manager. The food was delicious, but the activities held throughout the day are what made the hotel special for me, along with the dedication of staff that have been with the hotel for a long time. The tea tasting at 4pm was wonderful and very informative. The two hour walk in the morning through the valley visiting villagers, seeing all spices grown there, the church, this walk is a must do. We also attended the cooking class and it was just exceptional in the skill of the cooking, the taste and presentation. I did not want to leave !!

★★★★★Wow factor location with amazing views across the valley. Staff were lovely, room spacious and well equipped, allowing us to sleep well.|Breakfast was a little underwhelming versus the other hotels we visited on the trip but dinner was excellent. We had a suite with its own pool but it didn't actually get the sun so bear that in mind if you're a sunbather. That said, the hotel's main pool was a perfect substitute when we wanted sun.

★★★★★Wow,wow wow, What a gem!!|My wife and I stayed two nights in a very well appointed, spacious room with amazing views.|The facilities were excellent, the Coffee Bar and Bakery, along side the Library and plunge pool offered a quiet retreat, whilst the large pool with plenty of loungers was good too.|My wife had a full massage and could not speak highly enough of her treatment, I had an exceptional lower leg and foot massage.|The restaurant was light and airy, with a few tables on the balcony. The Restaurant Manager was excellent and ensured the service was top notch. The food was of a very high standard and offered a wide choice. Breakfast was again very good with a wide choice of eggs and omelettes if you did not want local dishes. The fresh fruits and juices were terrific. |There was a complimentary 1 hour walk around the hotel surrounding hills.|Thank you all for a wonderful relaxing stay, we really didn't want to leave. Laundry service was speedy and very good too.| |Best wishes|Peter & Gill

★★★★★Amazing location and experience of stay. The property is located in scenic area and with only 16 rooms spread over multiple acres provided a very personalized and pleasant experience. The staff starting from Manager, Mr. Rateesh were very courteous and friendly. |We loved the dining experience and the Spa. |Wholeheartedly recommend this property.|Few practical details |1. The resort is in very natural hill kind of landscape. This does mean that you will need to factor in some short walks between various facilities.|2. Pre-order your meals and works so beautifully in terms of timing as you arrive at Restaurant.|3. Do plan atleast 2 days stay to fully experience all the activities in the resort as you also plan some site seeing around ||Over all a lovely place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Munnar

★★★★★Hard to describe how amazing this hotel is. Location, facilities, food and staff. Perfect for a tranquil retreat. Free activities are a nice touch. We did the two hour walk and the tea tasting. The biscuits made on site taste even better than they smell when being baked in the coffee shop. Spa was also very good.
