This is a good hotel and I recommend it, but not a great hotel.||Plusses - location, food, lobby|Minuses - room style, condition, guest service||Location is central to everything in Anchorage and walking distance to a good gym (Planet Fitness) and several restaurants. The breakfast and dinner quality are excellent, especially the dinner quality. I had the chicken breasts with steamed veggies two nights in a row and it was awesome. The bar and dining staff are fabulous. Complimentary happy hour is nice although food offerings are just cheese and nuts unlike other ES locations with actual food at happy hour. The lobby is a wonderful ski lodge like setting with fireplace although I could do without the trophy animals - lets leave them in the wild.||The rooms are large but very 1980s style with heavy tile, ugly furniture, etc. Sturdy and functional but also kind of beat up. I would give the rooms 2 stars for style. My room had a jacuzzi tub but it didn't work so that was a bust.||The front desk staff was not very good. They stare at their computers and never greet anyone passing through the lobby, which is not very hospitable. ||My biggest gripe was that I was prompted online to upgrade to a jacuzzi room. At Marriott this would have been a free upgrade at my level. I paid $60/night at ES. The jacuzzi did not work so it was just a bath tub. Some stranger text messaged me throughout the stay about my satisfaction so I let them know. Crickets. I mentioned it to the front desk at checkout and they just shrugged. Terrible service.

I just got here, but so far I am pretty satisfied. With the smiling and friendly staff at the front desk to the cleanliness of rooms and overall hotel, I couldn't be more pleased. They just need a coffee shop inside and then good to go!

This is the nicest Embassy we've stayed at, and we have been to quite a few! The lobby is very nice and spacious offering lots of areas to relax, and there is a billiards room, nice on cold short days. The staff is all very helpful and the made to order breakfast was delicious, and fast prepared by a wonderful cook. It's really a great property that I highly recommend.

There was a mouse in the dining area and when we reported it, the staff member said they were aware of the problem and do see mice from time to time. Also, we stayed 3 nights and the room was never cleaned. When we called the front desk on the third day to request a cleaning, the staff member didn’t arrive until 5 pm to clean the room. We were trying to get ready for dinner then so asked if she could come back later, and said she was ending her shift and couldn’t return.

We read mixed reviews before going so I was a bit worried but we had a fantastic stay!! The room is a pretty standard Embassy Suites room, which is a good thing. It felt recently renovated so clean and fresh. The front desk provided great service. The elevators were super fast. The breakfast buffet is definitely a highlight, like nothing i've ever had before for a free hotel breakfast. Also the happy hour was a nice touch! The lobby is spacious, with lots of nice places to hang out, there's even a room with a pool table. The indoor pool and hot tub were both large and clean. My only critiques are that the pillows could be nicer, and the pullout sofa bed isn't particularly comfortable (fine for kids!). Location is great, especially if you have your own car. Definitely not downtown but close to other services and restaurants.

The front desk was super friendly, and the lobby was nice. The bed was probably a little older than some, but it was very comfortable after a long trip. The regular room was huge!! We were very pleased with it! It was a tad dated, but I would definitely stay here again because everyone was friendly, it was clean, decent size bathroom, and large room. The AC worked great, and we had no issues with noise.

Enjoyed our stay. I wouldn't say the room was worth $300 however, guest services was amazing and friendly. We were also able to bring both our dogs.
