The Hotel is on the cusp of becoming a great hotel if they can fix a few problems. The good things first, the hotel is well maintained and the location on the PCH right next to plenty of exciting restaurants and shopping which is a major attraction. The hotel is cute and charming and less than a 5 min walk to the beach. The staff is amazing, above all else know that! The rooms are smaller but still comfortable while the bathrooms are functional they are very small and not a lot of counter space for hair accessories or makeup. The Maid service is to notch and keep you feeling comfortable. The rooftop restaurant is a must visit for the views alone. Now the bad , the mattress is a miserable excuse for a mattress, it was lumpy and overly hard. The pillows were small and flattened and need to have been replaced years ago( went out to buy a pillow rather than sleep on theirs). The bed frame was antique furniture but creeped every time you shifted. Room had a mini fridge and TV had access to sign into streaming services. The towels were one level above sandpaper. I loved the look and atmosphere of this hotel. It has a rich history and well maintained. If they upgraded the mattress, pillows and towels could be something special!

The location is incredible, the views breathtaking and the building amazing, however the standout of the trip was the front desk worker Ivano - i had originally only booked for 2 nights. Due to his exceptional service and help, where he went above and beyond any expectations one could have, i ended extending an entire week longer and i am still here! Thank you Ivano and I hope management sees this and appreciates you the way you deserve (I literally this morning was waiting in line to talk with another person working there and heard a lady saying how wonderful Ivano had been to HER as well!!)|Kindness when it is not deliberately visible simply must be acknowledged,|Rhiyen Sharp

I had an incredible stay. I loved my room on the third floor. Great ocean view, very comfortable bed, very cozy and clean. I ate breakfast on the roof top upstairs and dinner downstairs, and both restaurants were delicious, with very personable wait staffs. Thanks to my waiter Luke! That view upstairs is breathtaking. The people who worked at the front desk were all very warm and helpful. A very special thanks to Phelton Calhoun and the staff at the front desk. Both days I walked out the front door down the stairs to the beach and saw the sunrise and sunset. It’s just an amazing experience.

Such a nice little find in South Laguna. Lots of character - experiencing a 100 year old hotel was really fun. Loved that they had the fireplace going. Adding some scented candles would be a nice touch - a slight smell of antiquity when you walk in. Staff was AMAZING. Stayed in Casa Surf room - nicely decorated, with ocean view. Rooftop restaurant a cool space - food average. The vibe of the place, and the people there, make it a very cool choice.

This is the oldest functioning hotel in Laguna beach and all the charm and character that come with that are there. From the wooden floors and ceilings to the wall sconces and lighting choices. You may feel you are on a visit to seaside Spain. That being said don’t expect large double sinked bathroom vanities and king sized beds. It is European sized and appropriately so. They do provide waffle robes which is a nice amenity I always look for. I did not get the coffee maker in the room to work but they offer a big pot of coffee in the lobby with granola bars and hot water for oatmeal. Being near the beach I did miss not having a balcony and view but that is what the rooftop bar is for and let me tell you it is keeping with the Spanish theme of offering delicious tapas. The food and drinks were delicious and atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Be mindful they close early in the winter which was 7 pm on weekdays so I’m glad we got started at 5. The views are great and they have heaters up there. Try the empenadas and olive tapinade. I look forward to coming back and trying other small bites. Even the room key is the shape of the clam shell standing for The Camino in Spain. Nothing disappointing and look forward to returning.

Front desk staff were so nice, room was perfect for my stay. The beds were SUPER comfy, the rooftop lounge is an added bonus, amazing view of the sun set. The only thing that I would say was a con was there was a slight smell when you get in your room, nothing terrible that opening a windows for - few minutes wouldn’t fix. Outside of that you couldn’t beat the location, comfort and overall experience. 100% would stay again.

This Cozy Charming Establishment is a home away from home. The staff are friendly and professional. The Rooftop Ocean view restaurant has great food and a delicious Brunch on Saturday & Sunday. To top this hotel experience off was the kindness of one of the Managers Jim Hall. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay at the hotel was perfect, he was such a delight.. We will definitely be back…
