Western Inn-Old Town

My son and I really liked this hotel. We travel quite a bit for different reasons, and overall, this was a great place to stay. It was close to everything we were trying to get to in San Diego and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were awesome! Trust me, I rarely find super comfortable beds at hotels but I slept very well thanks to the beds in our room. The only draw backs were the parking isn't free and it's hard to get a spot on the street, and the breakfast didn't have many options. However, there is a really nice man that will make your waffle for you and he was kind and helpful. I would ask the hotel to consider adding some options like fruit, yogurt, and juice, then I would totally give 5 stars! Either way this is going to be our place to stay whenever we visit San Diego....

I found myself unexpectedly stranded in San Diego after a rough morning and needed a reasonably priced place to stay for the night. Old Town Western Inn & Suites turned out to be a great choice. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it’s a solid budget-friendly option. When I called to ask about an early check-in, the staff member I spoke with was incredibly kind and understanding. He offered to have my room ready in under an hour for a small fee, but when I mentioned I didn’t need it quite that fast, he reassured me it would be ready within a couple of hours at no extra charge. His sympathy and willingness to help really stood out. The room itself was simple but very clean. The water pressure was excellent, and the hot water never ran out. The sheets were fresh, the hallways were tidy, and the atmosphere was quiet—no noisy guests or late-night disturbances. The location is also a huge plus, as it’s within walking distance of Old Town San Diego. Overall, it was a smooth and comfortable stay, and I would absolutely book here again.

Rooms are great and so is the location. Bed was very comfortable and the water pressure is OK in the shower, tub was nice (unfortunately I didn't get to use it). Breakfast is on the negative side... All they give is waffle, bread, cereal and coffee. If you just want something to get by before a brunch, I guess it's OK. However there are a lot of great places to eat around and some are walkable distance. The $15/daily parking inside the garage was a bummer. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

It was a very nice place, it smelled good as soon as we walked in and housekeeping came every morning to check on what we needed and if we wanted anything cleaned. My family and I would definitely recommend it.. front desk people were super helpful but for some reason our key kept stopping to work. They fixed it every time no questions.. location was amazing, we were able to walk to old town and was right by a freeway exit making it easy to explore more of the city. Def a recommended place to stay!

This hotel is in a great location with easy access from the freeway, making it very convenient. The staff at both check-in and check-out were friendly and welcoming. My rooms was modern,, and well-maintained, which made my stay very comfortable. Despite being close to the freeway, the night I stayed was pleasantly quiet.||While the parking lot is on the smaller side, I appreciated how close it is to the building entrances. The elevator is conveniently located near the rooms, adding to the overall ease of getting around. I would definitely recommend this hotel for staying at a hotel reasonably priced.

I went with my two nieces to celebrate one of my nieces birthday. We stayed at Western inn old hotel. It is close to everything you want to see in San Diego. Their waffles were delicious. We love the atmosphere, the room was clean and their services was overall excellent. What I really appreciated about their honesty and trustworthy. I forgot my watch at the room, when I checked out. I called them and told them to check for me.|They found my watch and they sent it to me with no time. They didn’t charge me for the expenses of sending me my watch from San Diego to San Francisco. The watch was a treasure of my heart because it was valentine gifted by my late husband before we married. Western inn is a part of my family now. I am very pleased and grateful for the hospitality and support that they provide for us. We are very thankful to God for the wonderful people like Western inn. We’re really appreciated for all your help and your service. I am looking forward to going back again to San Diego and staying at the place, Western inn old town.

We had a lovely stay here. The folks at the front desk were helpful and accommodating. Rooms were nice - clean. Location was close to MCRD (although still required a car to get to, not really walkable due to highways. Walking distance to lots of things in Old Town to do, many restaurant options. Had a great trip!

Location was a short walk (about 6 blocks) from the Old Town Transit Station. Front desk staff were great and very helpful. I was clean and quite comfortable for my stay - great bed and a good shower. The room was kind of basic but it had everything I needed, including a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was “continental”that included a hot waffle. It was fine for me, but if my wife had been with me, there was virtually nothing gluten-free except cereal. Adding a little variety and even some sort of protein would have been helpful.
